Question about iRiver T20 MP3 Player

Open Question

How do you replace the 3.7 volt lithium polymer rechargeable battery in an iriver t20 mp3 player?

I have an iriver t20 mp3 player which has given many years excellent service. The battery has died. Where can I buy a replacement battery? How do you open the unit to replace the battery? The iriver website only says send the unit to their service centre. It can't be that hard to change the battery. I did it for an iriver H340 without any problems. Thanks Bilby

SOURCE: Iriver H340 - new battery charges, but does not work...

Hi, I had the same problem with my H340. I bought a battery for $16 on eBay and swapped them out. The unit would say "Charging" but would never "Complete". When disconnected from the AC, it would not power up at all. I opened it up again and noticed that the old battery connections had the red wire on the left, the battery had the red wire on the right. I took the black and red wires out of the quick-connect jack and swapped them so that the red wire would no go into the player on the left. Works like a charm now.

Battery life? replace? how much?

The battery for this player lasts 1Day(mp3) and 5-7hrs(video.)

How do I take it appart

Lately, they've been building disposable MP3 players. Mine has got a lithium/ polymer battery that "should" last for years. Once it's shot, the whole thing is shot- unless you run it off the charger. So much for portability.

Windows xp drivers

Make sure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player. XP has all the right drivers but the iRiver needs to synchronise with Media Player inorder to transfer music onto the player using the sync function. Get Media Player 10 or higher then plug the iRiver into the computer.

Iriver t20 problem

have you tried hitting the reset button when it hangs? You need to use a pin to do so, there's a small hole on the end of the player.
