No unfortunately not, I am stil learning to fix tv's and this is one of the tv's I got to fix. But like you can see it is one of those hard to fix problems. Can you please give me any suggestion of what else it could be in the TV itself. Thanks

There are only 2 parts in the degauss circuit.I guess some sets have 3 parts if you count the relay. Change the degauss thermistor. Make sure the degauss coil has continuity. Solder the connector on the board where the degauss coil plugs in. Make sure there are not cracks on the board that have broken the copper traces from the thermister to the coil or from the ac line to the thermister that would keep the unit from degaussing at every turn on. Good Luck! Let me know!

How do degaussing my 47 inch tv

It can be done by using an instrument, called degausser. It can be done without opening the TV. Contact any service technician, who has this repair device in hand. Otherwise, contact the service center.

I found this thing inside my tv is it the thermistor? If it is how do u connect it?

The set should work with out this part as it is the degaussing thermistor, look for the two holes in the board very near where the power cord enters the set and if a relay is there it will close to that, it gets hot for a brief time when set is turned on cold, solder it back in place no polarity needed.

When set is cold it allows at turn on AC voltage to pass to the degaussing coil around the crt so the plug/s for that will also be close to where it connects.

How to fix crt tv discoloration philips you can see all the colors

Gary,

You might look through the TV menu for an entry called "Demagnetize" or "Degauss" . Over a period of time, many CRT screens become magnetized. This causes colors to to be off from just a little to "way out there".

Usually, activating this function once or twice will restore the screen. If no such entry appears in your TV menu, you might want to try manual degaussing instead. These devices can be purchased for $15 - $60 and will perform the degaussing quickly. Here is a list of the devices and where they can be purchased.

Also, check home stereo speakers that may be placed within 2 - 3 feet of the screen. The large magnets inside them can cause picture problems. Remove them to a distance as far as possible from the CRT screen. Speakers that are labeled as "Magnetically Shielded" should not cause this problem - these type are often parts of a home theater speaker system, but not as part of older stereo systems.

Of course, if the settings on the TV have been adjusted - that could be the source, too. Make sure the TV is tuned properly to the channel needed (if not using audio / video cables from the source DVD, cable box, etc.). Dial down the Color, Hue and Tint settings and slowly work them gradually upwards - or locate a one button color or other "scene" selection (Sports, Vivid, Movie, etc.) to see if that solves the problem.

Based on the information you provided, I expect that one of these solutions will solve your problem. It is also possible that one or more electronic components soldered to the circuit boards inside the TV is failing or has failed. If that is the problem - it will require replacement of defective parts - and degaussing will not fix this issue.

I hope this helps and good luck!

I have a discolouration mark on the screen that I believe was cused by holding a dvd on pause for too long. It has been suggested that I degausse the screen. Can this be done?

depends on what type of tv it is , if its a cathode ray tube tv then yes you can, if its a lcd or plasma then no you cant, you could try a program called pixel protector on the latter two types of tv, this will play white noise continuously on your tv to try to make the pixels rest , there is no guarantee that it will work, but worth a shot at least

Sir, Iam Raju from vizag. My TV Sansui 21 inchs flat colour tv. displaying with colour. please tell me our tv problem. and solution my mail id arajudmsc@gmail.com please sir

Does this tv dropped? if not, you may have large speaker beside it. Keep it away from magnets, speakers that are not magnetically shielded placed near your tv can cause stain(the problem you have in your tv). After doing so and still stain persist, degaussing in needed (not available as household tools) what we can do is leave it like that for quite sometime it will eventually disappear, arround 2 weeks,, not unless your tv's tube is defective. Tv's are equipped with internal degaussing circuitry but needs time to clean those stains, since it work only few sec after switching On your tv. Hope it helps

Screen Shaking/Vibrating

Yeah, Degaussing is basically resetting the magnetic field inside the monitor. go into the menu options, and search for that option. if this does not work, then your monitor is really old, and needs replacing.

Interesting problem ,only speakers or magnets disrupt the purity of the picture unless you have an internal color problem ,the is a circuit that cleans the picture automatically and is the degaussing circuit, this circuit only works when you turn on your tv ,what we need to do is unplug the set from the wall for about 15 minutes and then plug it back in and turn it on,at that very second the degaussing circuit should clean your picture.Sometimes if you move the tv while is on it will also give you this symptom. Let Us know how it goes in a form of a new question or if you need more information.
