Question about Dell J740 InkJet Printer
I typed a letter in Word Perfect and it will not print. Box comes up saying "preparing document for printing" but nothing happens. I tried it from the print icon and file/print. Nothing. Just a week earlier I did print a letter from Word Perfect just fine. Did not do anything to the printer in the interim. Printer works ok with other applications and from the internet sites - it just won't print from Word Perfect. I unplugged the printer power cord and started again with no luck. It's a mystery. Thank you.

Not sure if this is the correct way around, but it worked. Go to Start --> All programs --> Dell Printers --> Dell Photo AIO Printer 922 --> Dell All-in-one center
From here, you can determine and change your scan settings as needed; then click "scan now" (thus by-passing the button on the actual AIO machine). This scanned photos into my picture program so I could email to all the grandparents!

remove papaer tray and look for a small black arm which should swing freely it most likely hangs down from the base of the machine or it may be jammed up into the slot it enters to activate the papaer detect switch

Go to your device manager and make sure that you have a driver for the printer. Or uninstall the printer then reinstall it. sounds like the printer driver has been deleted

When you click on "Print" do you get a window where you can choose the printer? If so, make sure you have you actual printer selected.

SOURCE: Printing small envelopes
In Word 2007, use the Mailing > Envelopes > Options section.
In 2003 I think it was under Tools > Envelopes & Mailings > Options.
There you'll be able to specify if the manual feed is top first or edge first, to the left, centered, or to the right, and how far over and down to place the address and return address.
After a few adjustment runs, it works great.
