I have an ABS laptop. I have gone into control

First make sure nothing is muted.
Start>Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices

If nothing is muted, and your volumes are up and still no sound, try updating your audio drivers,

Start>Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Sound Video and Game Controllers

Right click your audio drive and select Update driver.

Sound doesn't travel to you tv via a hdmi lead from your laptop, you would need to use laptops speakers, or a connect the laptop to a suitable audio device.

Default IRQ settings...

If you were just messing around with the keyboard, you have have just muted your audio output. You may even see in the lower right corner of your screen a red circle with a line through it over the volume control icon.
Laptop keyboards have function keys that let you mute your audio from the keyboard. Go into your control panel and click on the sounds icon, see if you have the mute box checked and uncheck it to un-mute your audio

Change the volume in WMC doesn´t working...

If the remote control causes a visible change with the volume control display but no audible difference, there are only three possible fixes. 1.)Go to Windows "Start > Control Panel > Sounds > Advanced. Here you will find a set of several volume control slide bars each with a check box at the bottom for muting. Un-check any controls marked as muted and raise the volume to 50%. Exit Control Panel. 2.) Many P.C. speaker systems are self amplified and have their own volume controls which supercede anything you do through Windows. 3.)If the problem persists you most likely have a jack plugged into the wrong feed. Allways power OFF and ground yourself before fiddling with computer jacks.

i suppose that nothing is muted in windows xp anywhere ? all sliders in the volume control is set to max ? check what sliders are displayed in the volume control, referring specifically to "wave" as most sound is sent through there..

then also remember you have hardware volume control on the laptop ( either a manual volume control dail or buttons or by pressing the "fn" key and the V+ V- keys... they are marked blue on some of the keys

No sound from my notebook laptop

1.check the master volume ( will be a function key and / or dial)
2.make sure volume is not muted on computer (setting found when you double click on the little speaker icon by your clock on the lower right corner of your desktop)
3. plug some headphones into the headphone jack and check for sound there
4. click START-SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL - STSTEM -select the HARDWARE tab at the top -
device manager- when it opens , scroll down to where it says "sound video and game controllers, if it has a yellow ! next to your device, the drivers are missing or corupt and need to be installed or updated and can be done so at your computer manufacturers' website.

NOTE- if you have headphones plugged into the headphone jack it WILL mute the system except in the headphones.
please post your findings here and we'll move to another step if needed .
Regards!
