Which model is it?.. bare in mind some models of lcd/plasma come without internal speakers and need an add-on like a home cinema kit etc... is yours possibly one of those?

You've got a bad solder connection,or broken foil line,s on the pcb (printed circuit board1.gif).Narrow it down by pressing in different places,or use plastic or rubber tip.If not,then you got a shorted load on this fuse and diode.do you have a schematic,whats at the end's of this circuit.D represents a <Diode> not a transistor.

Hi, your other option is to talk to other repair shops in your area, or call zenith (LG) and ask for repair shops they recommend, tech u talked to wants the easy way out rather than troubleshooting the board to find the 1,2, or 3 parts that are actually bad, be advised that the good old zeniths are now owned by LG industries and contrary to the tv commercials that tell you "LG" = lifes good, it actually stands for lucky goldstar the korean outfit that has owned zenith for quite awhile now, sad but true, video-tek

Good Day;

The TV's front panel may be bad, manual buttons. TEMPT FIX; remove speaker, cloth covered, cover, disconnect cables. TV will work but only with remote.

Good Luck!

Our Plasma (CMPAD25) needs a replacment power switch and I have been quoted $740 to get it fixed though they can not advise of when the part will be available? How can I check with Hitachi

Hitachi's phone number is:
1-800-448-2244
The repair cost and time frame (unknown) sounds typical - TV manufacturers no longer seem to even keep their parts in stock after 2-3 years.

Sounds like you have a jammed / shorted out button on the control panel... Try un-plugging the tv, and then unplug the "button panel" on the front of the tv...see if you can turn the tv on with the remote. Sometimes if one of the buttons gets shorted, it will "lock" the processor from doing ANYTHING else, as it thinks you are holding down the defective button. If this works, simply have the defective switch or control panel replaced, or just leave it unplugged and use the remote only! Hope this helps!
