It's not the OS... Honestly i'm a computer technician but not a programmer... i'm just asking for some opinion. anyway, it is an AGP motherboard but it is not mean that it is old and only new computer has the capacity to run new games... As a technician i know that DUAL CORE PROCESSOR is NOT recommended for gaming.. it is not made for gaming... It is developed as use in terms of resources and other programs... I DO NOT ACCEPT THE FACT THAT DUAL CORE PROCESSOR HAD MANY IN COMPATIBILITY IN USING IT FOR GAMING... i'M just seeking for second opinion... i do not want to expense money to buy new processor like QUAD CORE just to play games coz i dont hav money... if i had money i dont seek help here becoz i know that my processor Dual Core is not intended for gaming unlike AMD Processor and the new one QUAD CORE.... .BUT ANYWAY THANKS FOR TRYING davidzou2131.... I appreciate it.... You can also ask me for some help in terms of technicallity specially PC.... Thanks Dude...!

Hi basti_wolf25, I have the same problem as yours. It's extremely frustrating.
I played games with lower requirements and it hangs too.

The computer seem to work fine when not running games, anything that is not using graphic card. But I do not think that it's the graphic card problem.

    P.S : I'm currently using a Radeon 9550.

Icant play l4d in geforce 5700 le... graphics are distorted... Sytem Info: P4 3.0ghz Windows 7 Ultimate 1gb DDR400 Kingston ECS-P4m800PRO-m3 MOBO 160gb Hdd Nvidia Geforce 5700 LE(128mb 128-bit)

Hi marcian_alla,

Kindly double check the system requirement of your game.
The specification of your PC must meet or even exceed the system requirement of the game before you can play the l4d.
If there is a need for upgrade specifically with your graphic card, please do so.
For me, you must have at least 512MB graphic card to play lots of games.

Hope this helps you a lot.

Will NBA 2k10 have crappy or still nice graphic when set to low?

Hi, I hope I'm writing....err....typing this to you in time for you to get your game. You definitely shouldn't worry about the game looking crappy on your laptop, and I'll tell ya why. 1. The PSP can barely match up to good lookin 2005 games, let alone 2009. 2. I don't know who told you about the whole "lowest settings" thing, but it seems they're wrong. After looking at the minimum requirements, you exceed them quite well. You have your dual core compared to a 2.4GHz single core, more than twice the RAM, and a somewhat better video card. With that in mind, I don't see any reason why you should have to worry about the way it looks, let alone lowest settings. I'm not saying that you can crank it up or anything, but you should be able to play with at least SOME settings on medium and not the lowest res. Hope this helps ya :)

Gaming performance

I figure you are using he onboard VGA with your motherboard. Looking through the BIOS Setup for it, I don't see where it allocates a block of your RAM for use by the video (as a lot of MB's do). All you an do is set the frame size from 1mb to 8mb, max. I suspect the chipset is allocating RAM for the video on the fly.

Regardless, if you want good video performance, you should consider going to a separate video adapter, preferably one that is PCI Express, with a minimum of 256mb of RAM. This takes the load of video processing off the motherboard, and places it on a dedicated GPU, using its' own memory. The Nvidia chipset is popular and well-supported, but most any name brand will do the trick. Shoot for one with PC Express, and as much RAM on it as you can afford.

Hope this helps!

Cheers

ASUS P5L-VM 1394 mother

Here is a link to a website that identifies the specs for your motherboard, and also identifies the type of processors that are compatible with your motherboard. It is Intel Core 2 duo/ Intel Core 2 duo Extreme capable.

It looks like you have a good candidate for a gaming pc, in my opinion. I would suggest that you upgrade the memory to its max of 4 GB. This link also has a list of all compatible memory modules for your motherboard, If you click on a memory module, there is an option on the next page to tell you where you can buy it and for how much.
