Hi, Your onboard circuit is faulty. You may want to consider getting a new TV instead of fixing it.
Fixing it might be expensive...
and Its not a good idea to try to fix it by your self as this model of Mitsubishi TV has lots of random problems reported by people.

reconsider getting a new TV.

going into shut down means there may be couple reason bad voltage regulator no b+ relay bad or open solder joints

The mitsubishi VZ5 chassis that will not power up often is the result
of a leaky diode raising the voltage on IC700. A quick check is to
check pin 4 of IC 700 for

0 Volts DC. If pin 4 has any voltage replace Diode 980 on the main PCB
it is leaky and the set should power up. This tip relates to all VZ5
    chassis mitsubishi's

or it may be even a couple of bad condensers. If you take it to a local shop and total repair bill will be below $180.00

there was no reply for the comments i gave you :)

If the green light is not lighting up, you will need to check out the standby power supply inside the TV set, or if this set has a DM board, you will need to change the capacitors. Good Luck

on the signal board replace the caps by the 5/9 volt regulators. c2p04 is the main culprit. 6 caps in total can be changed. I believe c2p05 also.
