Make sure you got the power switch plugged in the right front panel connector
make sure the ATX_12V is plugged in as well as the ATX

P4ge-mx motherboard no power

In this case simply #1 you want to make sure your power supply is good first.
Take a good known power supply and try it instead.
You don't have remove the motherboard, etc., just unplug the main ATX power connections and plug the good power supply in et al then see if it powers up.

It could be the power switch, but 99% of the time it's going to be either a bad power supply or maybe a bad motherboard.
Since it's a ASUS I doubt it had bad caps, but look on the mother board at the large capacitors and see if you you can find any obvious bad caps.

Hi hithammaged,
please click on the link provided. This will open Asus web site for their P4GE-MX motherboard driver site.
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=P4GE-MX&SLanguage=en-us
Suggest you book mark this site. Asus does not provide downloading the motherboard CD for free. How ever if you want the entire driver CD you can buy it from Asus E-store at this link.

It's up to you.

Motherboard P4GE-MX, it broke cause there was thunder hit

This can be a number of things.. The first thing I would do is check all the cables and try a different outlet.. If that doesn't work, you probably need to buy a replacement power supply (can be returned if it doesnt work). If that doesn't work, the mobo is fried.

Asus P4GE-MX

If you have your manual you can see how to connect these on pg. 1-22. No manual..
Starting from the right edge of the board moving to your left. Notice there is two rows of pins one above the other. All your case connectors will be connected left to right & not up to down. The first two (BOTTOM ROW) pins are for the reset switch. The connector will have two wires one will be colored white or black. These colored wires are ground & will be the sane for all your connectors. All grounds will face towards the right for both rows of motherboard pins. After plugging in the reset connector SKIP one pin as you move to your left along the bottom row. Plug in your IDE LED connector a two wire connector. Moving to the top row across from the ide led, plug in the Power Led. It is a two wire connector. Some case connectors for the power led come in a three pin connector. If yours is like that than you will need to remove the + wire from the connector & slide it over one slot so it is next to the ground & plug it onto the board.
The last two pins is for the Power button. All Asus boards are marked & colored. You need a stronge flash light to see the markings on the board. Good luck!
