The mini manual indicates that F6 code is "Microwave Relay Failure (all versions). I found that part on the main board. As you face the MW with the circut board exposed the Relay is the right one of 3 (I belive) black components that are about 11/4" square and about 1/4" thick. It has a yellow and red wire (together) plugging into one blade and a white wire plugging into the other blade on the Relay. My question is: is the Relay soldered on to the board or is it a plug-in part? I hope the latter. If it plugs in I can remove it and have it checked. If soldered I will have to weigh very carefully how much $$$ I will put into the MW fixing it versus a new one.

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

It may be the a problem with the keypad, controller, or door switches.

The best bet is to look behind the the grille or next to the circuit board behind the control panel for the "mini-manual" or tech sheet. Many times they will have codes listed, telling you what to check.

Twice my new kenmore microwave has just started beeping with the error code E11 appearing on the screen.Have to unplug it to stop it. WHat is going on?

I think this microwave oven uses an inverter to control the power output of the magnetron. Usually the microwave will advertise this feature with a trade name like "accu-wave" or "true-power" or some similar label on the front of the microwave. Assuming that is the case here, then the E11 error means a bad inverter

Kenmore Over the Range Microwave making buzzing sound and not heating

This is a strong indicator the magnetron is fried, also! this is the most expensive part to replace in the microwave oven, and in most cases cheaper to replace the whole unit.

Ge microwave jvm160wj01 was working and suddenly started buzzing, gave bad electric/burnt smell and buzzes. Still buzzes and does not seem to heat now.

Sounds like the magnetron just shorted out. Its the part the generates the microwaves that heat the food. Buzzing sounds are a symptom of a shorted mag. Usually not worth fixing since the magnetron costs almost as much as a new oven. Sorry.

HI, This is a malfunctioning HV(High voltage Capacitor). It must be replaced asap. this will cause a fire in your home if not replaced soon.

F3 flashing on display screen..no buttons work!

I have the same problem. However when I unplug the microwave from the wall outlet, let it sit for 10 seconds, then weird codes appear on the top line. Reset the clock and it shold work just fine.

Kenmore microwave

The Keypad is a Circuit. Each of the Function Buttons is a switch. The same "Touch" Techinology as is used of your TV Remote Control Pad or your Telephone. It would appear that your Keypad Circuit is Open, not allowing touch commands to reach the Control Board. The Keypad will have to be replaced. Best done by a Professional. I have seen "Rare" cases of a defective Door Switch causing such symptoms.

Microwave suddenly stopped working

Code F3 indicates an open / defective thermistor / temperature sensor. The first suspects when a microwave is not heating would be the door switches, bad connections on the magnetron terminal or bad connections on the control board. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

Microwave makes loud buzzing sound when on and no heat

Have you tried putting a cup of water in it and cooking on a low power level? If it buzzes only when it is on the cook cycle, that would narrow it down. More detals might help us help you, including the model number.
