Question about Minolta Maxxum 7000 35mm SLR Camera

1 Answer

Minolta Maxxum 5000

I have a Maxxum 5000 that worked until last week. LCD comes on fine. I can set and start the timer. When the timer hits zero or if I press the shutter button, the camera shuts off. At first it would at least load the film (advance the film), but now it doesn't even load. No known trauma to the camera. I have added new AAA batteries. It has never needed service. Any ideas?

I actuallu read about the internal battery. The camera is 22 years old and I never knew there was na internal battery. I changed it out and the camera is working fine again. Now if I could only get this PFM Mason Bogie to run on DCC.....

I had the same problem with a maxxum 7000. Traced it to a bit of corrosion in the battery pack. It let just enough power through to run the computer, but upon releasing the shutter, it shut off.

You might check that. corrosion can be cleaned with vinegar.

two reasons for this are possible:
1) you changed the exposure compensation by mistake to minus something... - see below - change it again to +- zero:
