Question about Pioneer SD-P50A5-K 50" Rear Projection Television

Pioneer SD P50A5 red light stays on, green lights up but does not stay on

You mentioned a fuse replaced on the power board, is this on the outside or the inside of the unit?

Where can I locate it?

Thanks,'

The same problem occurs after I used the TV 1-2 days. I replaced the fuse (4A with 125V) 4 times in the last 10 days. What is the best way to solve this problem? Right now, I keep on replacing the fuse. Should I change to other types of fuses (I bought a package of 4 fuses with 4Amp 125-Volt Fuses from Radio Shack)?

    Thanks in advance.

It take me sometime to find out the fuse. It is behind the transformer in the middle of the board.

Yes, my TV is working now.

Thanks

You were 100 % on the money for this solution. It was the 4 amp fuse exactly.

Unit works perfectly now - even better than the reply from the service company who said they had no idea what the problem was, and also they didn't believe it could be a fuse.

It was the fuse. You are the BEST!

It's internal, located close to many other fuses, the one in question is a 4a 125v fast-blow.

Get a flashlight, (after opening up the bottom cover on the back) and look at ALL the fuses
on the power supply board. Search intently on finding a 4a glass mini-AGC board-mounted fuse.

MAKE SURE the TV is unplugged when you do this!

It's labeled "4a" directly on the board, very close to where the actual fuse is located, if not directly under the fuse itself, i forget now...

Look for 4a on the PS board / the PS board is the only board with the power cord running to it.

This model and others close to it have all sorts of soldering problems on the power board----fixed a lot of them by removal of power board and aside from fuses solder the ENTIRE board--every connection---bad connections develop with age and heat.

Pioneer 65" TV Model # SD-643HD5 won't power up.

I would suggest replacing the board itself, chances are what caused those fuses to blow is still faulty. did you check those fuses again after you powered it back up?

Main power light turns on but i have no picture or sound

Take a closer look at the power board fuses. There is a fuse numbered 106 a little ways away from the rest of them. I have this same model and got it working long enough to diagnose a bad flyback transformer by replacing this fuse with one from Radio Shack. At some times, I could put in a new fuse and have the set work for a few weeks. The flyback transformer is available from parts.pioneerelectronics.com for around $60.

Pioneer sd -p 5191 tv

mrman: It is a great chance Jeff that your Power Supply Board (specially the FlyBack) could not hold the voltage requirement to let your TV set on. If you love your TV set, I'll suggest to keep it and repair it. Probably you would have to replace the FlyBack and then check out if the TV stays on. This will cost you from $75.00 to $95.00, but it will not guarantee that it will stay on. I really suggest you to replace the main power board (from $175.00 to $250.00 - with core exchange). It is something you can do on your own and I'll recommend you to check on the following site (my favorite to buy parts, service is also ok): http://www.vancebaldwin.com/ SithPitt
