I cant get sound on my coputer, i have to watch an audio but i cant hear what they are saying i even brout some earstrerophone but there is still no sound.i have no sound on anythind like music or games ....

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have made the correct adjustments there

click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can make adjustments there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
hope this helps

I cant hear myself , my audio isnt working

Check for whether the Audio Driver is Working .Also check the sound and audio in the control panel (Whether it is muted or not) .Reinstall Driver If the problem persists . Reinstall OS if necessary

Microsoft Windows Sound Card Test There are also several test that can be performed from Windows. Microsoft recommends the following procedure:

"Verify that Windows can play .wav files:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Double-click the Sounds icon.

  3. Under Events, click an event that has a loudspeaker icon next to it.

  4. In the Name text box, be sure that the three-letter file extension is ".wav".

  5. Under Preview, click the Play button. You should hear a sound.

If you don't hear any sounds, or if Windows is not able to play a .wav file, check to see that a sound driver is enabled:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Double-click the System icon.

  3. Click the Device Manager tab.

  4. Click the plus sign next to Sound, Video And Game Controllers.

  5. If there is no Sound, Video And Game Controllers entry, or you have no sound card listed under this entry, contact the manufacturer of the computer or sound card and request help reinstalling the sound card drivers.
  6. "

I have reinstall the windows xp prof to my hp laptop. wen i play music no sounds. wat should i do?

The reason you dont have any sound is that the sound card on your Laptop needs a driver to work normally again, There is usually a website where you can download the drivers from the manufacturer of your laptop for example : dell, compaq.. just reply with the model of your computer and i can help you find the necessary drivers for the sound.
Cheers !!!

Recording Issues In Vista

Microsoft moved the particular option that you need to enable since Windows XP, and have also changed its default to MUTE.

To hear what is playing through MIC IN...

  • Go to Control Panel and select "Sound"
  • Under the "Playback" tab, double click on your enabled speakers.
  • Select the "levels" tab, and look for "Mic In Volume".
  • Click once on the speaker icon that is muted to un-mute it.
I really hope that this has solved your problem, if it has not, please let me know and I will do my best to help you further. Good Luck!
