Client brought in his PC today. EMACHINES T3830. said he thought it was the power button. admitted to toying around in side with the wires. went to intel's website for a diagram on this board. they were no help. the diagram that they have does not match this board. on their diagram, the slot for front panel power and front panel USB are backwards and the screw hole for theirs is in between, whereas on this one the screw hole is to the left. before I go too far, I need to know the order of the plugs on slot J9G1(front panel power).

if the same problem persists then there may be problem with operating system just reinstall it... may be due virus attack some system files have became unstable so try reinstalling os... and also after reinstalling just install some good antivirus............
if you can get past the POST properly and see the drive size, nothing is wrong with the drive hardware. I think XP is seeing a previous boot sector install so try first to fdisk, format and system boot the drive. This should remove any boot sector "shadows".
