Question about Franke PF3000 Deck Mounted Pot Filler Faucet with Two Valves: Polished ....

Installing a Pot Filler

I am ordering a Hudson Reed Pot Filler. I have a few questions:
How difficult is it to install?
What type of connection is it?
What holds it up on the wall, just the plumbing?

There is no installation instructions on their web site. So any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi 13Kat,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

You must connect to a flanged fitting behind the wall. The wall is sandwiched between the flange behind and the escutchen in front that holds the pot filler in place. These are usually installed on stainless steel sinks that have stainless steel back walls and do not come supplied with the flanged fitting, available at any plumbing supply.

Are riobel faucets a good product

Any faucet sold in a "Faucet Shop" is junk. Any faucet that is made outside of the USA is junk (i.e; Grohe (European) is junk, but Grohe USA is fine. Why? Because real plumbing supply wholesale sells them and has replacement parts.
Not convinced yet? Then when your buying you expensive "decorator" faucet groups, ask the seller if they carry repair parts for everything they sell? You key to grabbing your debit card and hitting the exit door, is when the salesperson gives you a big-eyed stare of wonderment, at the question you just asked them. - Cardiff Plumbing & Leak Detection Co. 35-years of plumbing service and repair. After installing a grohe faucet my water is cloudy most of the time. The cold water will eventually clear up after it runs awhile, the hot water, hardly. I never had cloudy water before installing the new...

It air bubbles in the water giving the appearance of cloudy.
It would seem that the aerator in the new faucet is particularly efficient.

If you take a glass of "cloudy" water and let it stand for a few mins, you should find it clears up nicely as the air slowly bleeds out through the top.

I just installed an american standard faucet Molel# 2808.222 Called SPREAD LAVATORY FAUCETS . The water does not come out. can you please help me?

Silly question, but did you turn the shut offs back on after installing? If so, the aerator is probably clogged (the screen on the faucet). Unscrew it and clean it out. Good luck

The undersink flow restrictor, attached at the end of the flexible "hose", was clogged. Verified this problem with Franke USA. In support of their product they are sending out a replacement flow restrictor for FREE!

What advantage(s) does a two-valved potfiller faucet have over a one-valve (if any)??

no real advantage, just your prefferance really. but i find with the two valve it's harder to acidentaly turn it on, as you have two stops.

Mixer tap in kitchen hard to turn on and off

It is a simple matter of on o-ring being out of align. REmove the valve cartridge fromthe faucet by first shutting off the water at the shut-off valves. Then remove the handle by means of loosining the set-screw on the front side of the handle. Then remove the valve cartridge by unscrewing the packing nut that surrounds the shiny stem that the handle was connected to.

Once that is removed then the cartridge will slide out, probably with a bit of force. Replace the o-rings and any other washers that may be there and coat liberally with plumbing grease before re-installing. This should fix you right up.

Bring the old cartridges, rings and washers with you to your home improvement store to make replacing easier. Should be about $15-$20.

Good luck.

Grohe pot filler

Here is the link to the install manual for your pot filler...

It mentions 'cold water only' in several places, but also mentions maximum hot water temp of 175, which is hotter than most hot water heaters (140-150), so I don't think (without being an authorized factory rep) that your hot water temp will hurt it... keep on keepin on... always wanted one of these for myself...
