No Picture, No Sound

I have had my RCA HD50LPW164 since about 2005. I haven't had any problems, then one day the TV will not turn on. The blue power indicator light is a solid blue but when I press the power button there is no response, no picture, no sound.

Any ideas what this can be? I know you have to change the bulb every once in a while but shouldn't I still get a response from the TV and sound? I was also told it could be color wheel failure. How do I locate the source of the problem?

Do you have sound still. Ifvso while the TV is on, shine a torch into the screen .
if you see a picture you possibly have a backlight issue

What parts might be bad if tv powers on, standby light turns blue, but still no picture or sound?

If back-light is OK, the fault will be with its T'Con board. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

There is some missing output voltages from the power supply regulator board to your tv. Normally, these board are replaced as card basis. some of them are repairable too. You have to check this board first, to find whether it is repairable or not. If not replace it as card basis.

Two vies of the power baord to your TV is attached here. This board can be purchased either from the authorised service center for Viewsonic at your town, or from any electronic sparepart selling shops at your town.
