I have a question. My tv stopped working after playing with the outlet, of hooking it in and out to move cables around. it just popped and left a brown mark on the outlet plate. I took apart my tv and saw the fuse was blown. So i replaced the fuse and everytime i plug it in the darn thing pops right away. i hear the tv coming on and "pop", i replaced it several times. What you think i can do. BTW it's not an iLO or anything. i'ts a sylvannia. been working perfect until then.

Probably isn't a fuse problem-
Nearly all modern electronics uses a 'switched mode power supply.'
They are more efficient, also much more prone to failure but offer the added benefit of being designed so a 'downstream' fault will cause the supply to enter a cyclic state to avoid setting fire to your home.
The supply itself will also cycle if it has an internal problem; once again, to prevent destroying itself or anything dependent on its outputs.

Supplies built a couple decades ago could only do this by blowing a fuse and there are conditions that can occur that would not blow the fuse but would allow overheating and further damage as well as fire.

The most common failure is of electrolytic capacitors which sometimes will show their illness by causing a bulging top or depositing a crystaline trace around their base.
Often though, they show no outer signs of failure but their value can shrink to tenths of a percent of the specified due to poor seals and defective chemicals. These can only be found through measurement with a capacitance meter with a DF (dissipaton factor - loss) capability.
They will be in size from ~ 3/8" to 2" in height, ~1/4" to 1 1/4" in diameter, cylindrical, perpendicularly mounted on the board.
They will have markings on their shrink-wrapped sleeves (color can be any) and range from ~ .1 to several hundred uFd. with voltages from 3-4 volts to hundreds.

Power supplies are often mounted on a separate board (since they are often outsourced) so if you are adventurous, take the back panel off and take a look.

The fuse block on most models covered by this manual is located under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. The fuse block should be visible from underneath the steering column, near the pedal bracket.

Location of power window fuses in a 1995 oldsmobile cutlass cierra

If any of the windows work its not the fuse.A very common problem on those early GM cars is the wires start to break inside the wiring boot between the door and hinge pillar.open up the boot and I`m willing to bet you will find broken wires.

The fuse box is actually called a TIPM totally intergrated power module. fair common problem on dodge trucks sad to say. it has the front control module attached to it.

Power windows stopped working.

Likely a bad master switch (the main window switch located in the driver's door). All other switches seek ground through the master switch so the effect quite often is the master switch can cause loss of window power on other doors. Given that the driver's window has also now quit makes this switch even more suspect.

Push Button to start and nothing happens.

Hi, The first thing you want to check is that the dryer has power to it. Then check the non resetable fuse. On most models the fuse is located in back of the dryer behind the rear panel.
Once you remove the rear panel, you will see the fuse located on the blower housing (White in color). Take continuity on the fuse. If the fuse has continuity, it is ok. If you an not access the fuse from the back, remove the front lower panel and the fuse is again located on the blower housing.
Other possibilities are door switch, timier, & motor. The fuse is most common problem!!
If I can help further, please let me know.

Thanks
Vic

2001 Sienna rear window defogger doesn't work

There are 3 fuses that control the rear defogger, and 1 relay

The fuses are: 10 amp HEATER, 10 amp MIRROR-HEATER; under the dash
The 30 amp DEF fuse is in the fuse box under the hood
The relay is the DEFOGGER relay, which is on the back side of the fuse panel under the dash

Also, check for a loose wire on the defroster grid (on the back glass), this is the most common problem.
