Question about Kitchen Ranges

3 Answers

I have a gaggenau stove (gas). It is new. The trivot pot supports are placed in the space and supported by 4 metal balls. These balls are not protectewd by rubber and have scratched the surface of the stove. I have received conflicting reports. 1. This is happeneing because the balls are not smoothly finished. 2. This is normal. I find this difficult to process as this is a new stove which already is damaged and does not look new or worthy of the price i paid. Your view?

If the balls are metal finish, they have to scratch any surface that has a less harness surfaces. What you need is to put a coat to the balls. You can find in a painting store a coating for metal surfaces. I recommend an epoxy or polyurethane one.

My opinion will be to replace it ti the store where you purchased it. anyway if is not worthy of the price paid you should return it.

We have an old (RS 15 57) Frigidaire range. There is a metal vent that leads from the oven into the storage drawer space beside it. The 2 screws that held it in place are gone, and the metal fitting was...

It is obviously there for a purpose. I would get some new screws and refix the vent. I don't know why there would be a vent there in the first place. Mice have a habit of getting into ovens/ranges sometimes so if the vent is there it will prevent this.

I have an stainless LG gas range and the knobs are loose and crinkled. LG will not replace them even though it is within the 1 year warranty period. They want to sell me a set for several hundred dollars....

I have the same problem. I have gone thru 2 sets of knobs for my LG Gas Stove. Even when I put JB Weld inside the knob to hold it together the knobs only last for 7-8 months of use. I am looking for a universal know with the same stem configuration to slip onto the shaft of the LG stove. It looks like a D

Can glass kettle be used on glass hot top stove?

No you should not use a glass kettle or glass type pots on a ceran top stove. Always use metal flat bottom kettle and pots. When buying a metal kettle make sure that there is no gap between the bottom of the kettle and the surface of the ceran top. Some metal kettles have an indentation on the bottom. This does not work well on the ceran top.
Hope this helps.

Our gas stove repeatedly tries to lite

One of the small switches mounted on the gas valve stems has its little contacts fried together. Sometimes pots poil over and water gets into a switch and after 4 or 3 day that switch goes all propah again. To repair the prob you must find the bad switch and replace it. Remove a wire from one at a time till yo find the bad one. Or simply replace the entire harness making sure each swicth is properly locked into place. Simple ain't it? LOL

Burner won't light

Take the pot support and the burner cover off and clean all the slots out with a toothpick. Carbon builds up over time and the gas doesn't flow over the spark. Do not light until fully reassembled.

My new gas stove (propane) is releasing black soothe when lit. All the pots are covered in this black powdery like substance. Whats the problem and how can i fix it. It's really costing me a lot to clean .

All gas stoves are set up for natural gas. Before using on propane, the oven and burners need to be converted for propane operation. Refer to the installation manual for conversion requirements for your particular stove.

Flames are extremely uneven and high

okay, DO NOT USE THIS STOVE ON LP GAS.

It's not intended to be used with LP gas, because LP gas requires a smaller orifice than natural gas. Call your propane supplier IMMEDIATELY...DO NOT USE THIS STOVE UNTIL IT IS CONVERTED TO LP GAS (if it's even possible)...this is extremely dangerous and you could hurt yourself if you continue to use LP gas on a stove that was designed to run on natural gas.

I have the same issue

Hello Sandiann. First thing to do is unplug or throw the 220v breaker of the supplied AC power. For the Frigidaire or " ELECTORLUX" Pull on the control knobs to remove. Remove the nuts holding the cover in place and carefully remove. Remove the five screws holding the metal support of the controls and lift very carefully. The thermal breaker is located to the top right on the support framing. About the size of a quater with a shaft in the center. The center of the shaft has a black dot. This is the reset button. Your metal support may have a large square opening where you can see the breaker if so reset the breaker with a ball point pen by pressing the black button.
