My kenmore not get cold both sides

You fan can't circulate because of failure or frost buildup. If its a stuch fan, a little WD-$) and some pliers can free it up. If its frost buildup try this.
It is either a defrost timer or limit switch, That's the little clip on device located on top of one of your freezer coils. This is the most common item to die on many newer refrigerators2_bing.gif. It is also pretty inexpensive, and easy to get from Sears or 1stsource parts. In rare cases your defrost heater may go bad, but I haven't had to replace one in a long while.

Fridge nor freezer are getting cold.

The over load relays on your compressor have gone bad. Easy way to check is to remove them and shake. If any rattle at all they are bad. Replace the overloads at the compressor. Hope this helps

Food at bottom of fridge freezes

Bad cold control switch.
The cold control switch should open when the set temperature has been reached. If the control does not open and turn the compressor off, it will continue to run and freeze items in the refrigerator section.
If the control is not closing, the compressor and all fans will stop operating. Check the control for continuity. If you don't feel comfortable checking this yourself, get a repair person out to check it out.
Hope this helps.

I also have the same refrigerator model 106.56566400 and periodically when the power goes off in the house the refrigerator & freezer will stop cooling. Try pushing the on/off button located inside the refrigerator to the left of the digital temperature controls. Hold the button down, this turns the unit off, then press it again to turn it back on. This basically resets the refrigerator, and most of the time works to get the refrigerator cooling again. Try this first before calling a repair man.

Kenmore Not cooling

there are 2 common problems with this frig. one is the defrost timer getting stuck in defrost. in this case all lights will work but no fans and no compressor running. the other problem is the relay overload on the side of the compressor but if this is bad the fan inside the freezer will be running. sounds like defrost timer
