Question about NEC Electra Elite DTU 16D-2 Corded Phone
I have NEC Dterm 80 phones and we have hit some wrong series of buttons on two of them and now it's allowing us to hear the on hold message when the receiver is on the hook and the phones are not in use. It is coming through the speaker even though the speaker button is not pushed. Can someone tell me how to reprogram it back please. It's pretty annoying!!
You can try pressing the feature key and then dialing 26. This is used to set background music on the extension when the phone is at rest. It also turns it off. This is on the dtu16 phones. Here is a link that has most of the user manuals for NEC phones. you should be able to find your manual here. http://www.neccare.com/cng/docs.nsf/Lib3?OpenView&Start=1&Count=100&Expand=6.13#6.13

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
