Disc won't eject & stops working

The disc won't eject & the green power light keeps flashing. It keeps saying opening & closing. And if it does work, about twenty minutes into a movie or a game it just shuts off Then shortly after turns back on. this continues to happen each time it turns on.

Your disc tray is jamming on an intermittent fault and when it does work it is recording each time the eject botton is being pressed so when your watching movies or playing games it tries to eject the disc tray and causes an automatic shutdown it will definately neet proffesionally repaired and should cost about 30-40 pounds and get a guarantee with it bacause these faults can come back to haunt you.

WILL NOT EJECT DISC

What is the model number of your DVD player? You may try power resetting the unit and check if it helps. To power reset, turn OFF the DVD player and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray.

Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.
NOTE: This step may not apply to all models as DISC1 is not available on all DVD players.

If this does not work and if the DVD player has DISPLAY and PREV buttons, press and hold the DISPLAY+PREV buttons for two seconds to unlock the drawer.

  7. If necessary, disconnect and then reconnect the power cord to recover the player.

I have satellite C50D-B-10q. How do I open the CD/DVD drive?

Removing discs
To remove the disc, follow the steps as detailed below:
Do not press the eject button while the computer is accessing the optical disc drive. Wait for the optical disc drive indicator to go out before you open the disc tray. Also, if the disc is spinning when you open the disc tray, wait for it to stop before you remove it.
1. To pop the disc tray partially open, press the eject button. Gently pull the disc tray out until it is fully opened. When the disc tray pops open slightly, wait a moment to make sure the disc has stopped spinning before pulling the disc tray fully open.
2. The disc extends slightly over the sides of the disc tray so you can grasp it. Gently lift out the disc.
3. Push the center of the disc tray to close it. Press gently until it locks into place.

How to remove disc when the disc tray will not open:
Pressing the eject button will not open the disc tray when the computer power is off. If the power is off, you can open the disc tray by inserting a slender object (about 20 mm) such as a traightened paper clip into the manual eject hole near the eject button.

Manual eject hole:
Turn off the power before you use the manual eject hole. If the disc is spinning when you open the disc tray, the disc could fly off the spindle and cause injury.

here's the solution that may work for you

  1. Eject the disc tray and remove any disc from the console.
  2. Important: Do not close the disc tray. Leave it open.
  3. With the disc tray open, remove the power cord from the back of the console.
  4. Gently push the disc tray about half-way back into the console.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the console.
  6. Push the power button on the console. The tray should close the rest of the way, then the console should restart and display the Xbox Dashboard.
  7. Important Do not use the controller or the disc eject button to turn on the console.
  8. Try updating your console software again.
What this does is put the DVD drive into Mode-B, which is an alternate operating state that allows the drive's physical memory banks to be flashed with new firmware. Because the latest XBL update involves flashing the drive with new firmware, you may need to physically put the drive in Mode-B. The latest update flashes the drive to make it compatible with Microsoft's new high-capacity disc format, XGD3, which will be used sometime in the future.

What do I do it will not Except my games it just kicks them out

It looks like something is keeping the tray from closing all the way or the eject button is somehow being pressed when it closes. Open the tray and get a flash light to look inside to see if there is anything in there that shouldnt be (like maybe a disc that came loose from the tray and is still inside the xbox). If it looks all clear try holding down the eject button when putting the disc in. If that doesnt work try opening and closing it without a disc in. If it stays closed without a disc open and close it a couple times to be sure then try putting the disc in again. If that doesnt work try standing the xbox up on its side and putting the disc in.

The next step I would try is replacing the disc drive. This of course will void your warranty if you do it yourself I would suggest requesting repair from Microsoft if it is in warranty (http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/repair/repair-process)

If it is not in warranty try replacing the disc drive (This is pretty complicated. I have done it and honestly wouldnt suggest doing it yourself unless you are very familiar with disassembling and resembling electronics.) Here are instructions http://hardandsoftgaming.wordpress.com/2011/03/12/replacing-a-faulty-xbox-360-dvd-drive-firmware-flash-or-circuit-board-transplant/

If you are not comfortably with doing this yourself find a local repair shop.

I think I had this error code as well. Here's the solution that ended up working for me:

Yes, I'm having the exact same problem -- I can't eject the dvd that's in the player right now either manually or remotely. It plays fine.

Cant play anything on it

I had the same problem, After googling for a few minutes I found the reset procedure for this player.

1. Turn it on.
2. Eject any disk you have in there and close the tray.
3. Hold down the "STOP" button on the player (not remote) until the green light flashes red and the system reboots.
4. Insert disk and enjoy.

This worked for me... mileage may vary.

Says "no disc"

I've found it works after the set has warmed up. I don't know what the problem is. The other thing is I will just keep ejecting - just hit the eject button over and over - open/close etc and after a while it plays. It's REALLY annoying
