Door will not open after cycle finishes

Sometimes it works ok, other times the door will not open at the end of the cycle. I have sometimes got round this by switching to 'drain' (although there is no water left in it), and it will hum for 30 seconds or so and then unlock the door, sometimes I've had to run a whole new cycle. Most recently, nothing worked and the washing was stuck in the machine for several days while I was waiting for my appointment (today) with a service engineer. I kept trying though, and yesterday managed to get it open. The engineer said it was probably either the door catch sticking (even though sometimes its fine), or the PCB playing up - which will cost approx £200 for a replacement. The machine is only 2 years old and 3 months old!! I used it again after he'd gone, and the washing is stuck in there again now! Does anyone have any experience of this, or any other ideas? Thanks.

I had similar problem, but never found the cause, ended up spinning washing again and again until I could open door. Control system replacements are expensive , almost as much as a new machine.

problem is almost certainly the door interlock. to replace, remove the plastic clip holding the door boot onto the cabinet and peel it back adjacent to the door lock. the door lock is just held in by two screws accessible at the front of the cabinet. not an expensive part. easy job - takes about 10 min

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

SOURCE: Zanussi ZWD1680W Front Load All-in-One... Problem:

With the symptoms you describe i would suspect a intermittent heater element fault as you are getting earth leakage current which is tripping the whole supply rather than a current overload which would just trip the socket circuit breaker. Get the heating element checked over first as this is the most likely cause.

Door not shut Check that the door is properly shut.Faulty interlock A faulty interlock might not allow the door to shut properly. Find your door interlock here and replace, or contact a qualified repairer.
No power Check the flex, plug wiring, fuse and mains supply for faults.
Faulty on/off switch Check the power light if fitted. Replace your on/off switch.
Water supply disconnected or off If a washer dryer cannot load water it cannot start a wash cycle. Check water supply.

This sounds like a drainage problem. First thing is to check the filter behind the flap on front of machine.
Please post back your findings for further assistance.

Water in tub after cycle has finished

On our Kenmore front loader the guy came out and pulled the front lower cover off and opened the large round plug cap and there was the kids paint ball ammo stuck in the pre-pump end. Then he re-set the computer board with his tester. When this happened the second time, I repeated what he did, except I unplugged the unit. It cleared the memory and works fine...

Check for a blockage. Or try to buy a washing machine cleaner and put it inside without clothes and run the machine alone. This will help. If it won't then you will need to get a new machine

Kitchenaid KUDS02FRSS0 dishwasher. Stops mid-cycle, sometimes wash, sometimes rinse, sometimes dry. Must restart 4-5-6 times to get it to finish. When finally done dishes are clean, hot & dry....

Hi Dennis.

If the dishwasher is hanging on in the middle of the cycle it is usually the heating system. If the temperature of the water is going up after filling, then the element may be working. The element is tested using a multi meter set on Ohms to read impedance across the heater element contacts. If impedance is infinity (open-off limit), then the element is gone. If the element is OK, then the bi-metal thermostat or the fuse must be replaced. The heating assembly is located at the base of the appliance, behind the kick panel.

Behind the kick panel you should also find the tech sheet illustrating how to run the diagnostic cycle for this model. Run a diagnostic cycle to confirm that the problem is with the heating system. Drain, water sensor and inlet problems sometimes may also result in cycle not finishing.

You can find parts and diagrams for your dishwasher in this page.

Regards.

Hi i have a tecknik washer dryer, the machine did not finish a spin cycle left the clothes soaking, the machine door did open eventually but i get no lights on the panel , i have checked the fuse and it is...

If the washer started a spin cycle and some water was released, I would suspect a block drain line.
And the locked door reenforces my belief.

Tecknik does not have a good drain cover over the output line and sometimes something small like a sock will clog the line. If you disconnect both ends of the line you should be able to unclogg it. But be ready to deal with the soap and water released.

My soap cap remains in the closed position at all times. The clasp mechanism works fine, if I cycle through with the door open I can see and hear the catch release when it should. But the door remains...

there is a little spring in there that flips the door open, just take the screws off of the side of the door, you'll see the broken spring by the door, make sure power is off to dishwasher

Door Locked and wont open

Mine is crazy too! Sometimes, if I open the soap dispenser it will open, othertimes not. Sometimes, if I pull up on the big, round knob (that you use to turn on the cycle), because it gets stuck down. Once in awhile, I just put it on the last 2 minutes of spin cycle again.
