I haven't figured this one out yet. Let's say the camcorder is in the dock, hooked to an AV input. It's in play/edit mode (not camera). You want to record to tape, using the remote control. When you press the stop/start button on the remote, it starts recording to the memory stick. Is there anyway to allow you to use the remote to start and stop recording to tape instead of memory?
-   I've got a Canon Elura 100 and I hook it up to a remote helmet mount cam. I'd like to be able to start and stop recording remotely if possible vs. having to start the camera and filming and then stuff the camera in my pack. Is there a way to do this through the remote that comes with the camera?-   Guest

you need to use a lanc controller with that plugged in it will record to tape instead of the memory stick.

Recently the zoom T W buttons both failed to work, so I could not zoom in and out, and then today, it would not power up, though I connected to a full battery, and I connected it to the mains. So it is completely dead. THere has been high amount of humidity in the air recently where I live in SPain, and I was at the beach with it a week or two ago. COuld this be why, or is something broken internally? I have had it over five years, thankyou Leo
