Display problems while playing Virtual Console games

If you are experiencing display issues (dim, blank or half-blank screen, ghosted image, etc.) with a Virtual Console game while using the Component Video Cable, please read the following:
Some Virtual Console games default to displaying 240 lines of video. Some HD TV's are unable to display a signal with only 240 lines. Try the steps below to set the Wii to output 480 lines of video, which may solve the problem:
  1. While on the Wii Channel Menu (main screen of the Wii), connect a Nunchuk to Wii Remote.
  2. Select the Virtual Console game from the Wii menu, then select "Start" to begin the game.
  3. When the game starts, press the Home button on the Wii Remote. (In many games, the music can be heard when the game starts.)
  4. Select "Operations Manual" from the Home menu.
  5. Press the Z + A + 2 Button simultaneously (the Z Button is on the Nunchuk). A sound will be heard if the button combination has been entered correctly.
  6. Close the Home menu. The game should now display correctly. Note: You will not have to do this the next time you play, as the Wii console will remember these settings.
If the Virtual Console game is still not displaying properly, but all other games work fine, please call 1-800-255-3700 so that we may assist you further.

My two girls have dsi,s how do the play with both ds,is on one game

hi there this should help ye out

Playing multiplayer with one Game Card:
Certain Nintendo DS games require only one player have a copy of the game to play multiplayer. Those without a copy of the game will need to download the game information from the player that has the game in their system.

This feature is available on games that have this icon on their packaging:
single_pak.gif
    To download game information:

  1. Insert the Game Card into the DS Game Card Slot on one system and slide it into place until it clicks. Turn the system on by pressing the POWER button.

  2. Tap the screen using the stylus when the "Touch the Touch Screen to continue" message appears. If the host DS system's Startup Mode is set to
    • Automatic. The game's menu will appear.
    • Manual. Tap on the box for the Nintendo DS Card Slot using the stylus to start the game.

  3. Turn on the other Nintendo DS systems. For each of these systems, when the main menu appears, tap on the "DS Download Play" icon on the right, middle side of the screen to display list of available games.

  4. Tap the title of the game to begin the download.

  5. See the individual game's multiplayer instructions for additional game play information.

  • Playing multiplayer with multiple Game Cards
Games that require each player to have a copy of the Game Card inserted into the Nintendo DS will feature this icon:
multi_pak.gif Because each individual game title has its own method for setting up multiplayer games, you will need to consult the instruction manual for that particular title.

Blinking mini notebook screen

Your notebook/mini is designed to power down the screen if your battery begins to lose charge, and this may be considered normal until the battery is recharged.
Try replugging the power then press the power button to take it out of standby mode. If it still hangs on the blinking light, you may need to update the bios or change your power settings in bios to either S1 or S3 and see if that changes anything.

Some Virtual Console games don't work!

When using component video cables and a HDTV: Go into the Wii's system settings, under Screen, change TV Resolution to HDTV (480p) instead of Standard TV (480i) and change to Widescreen (16:9) under Widescreen Settings.

This worked for me, good luck!

Original nintendo games on LCD tv

NES games on the Wii's virtual console can sometimes have display issues because the NES only supported 240 lines of resolution, which is stretched over a standard TV with 480 lines.
Making the jump to HD,on a TV that can do up to 1080 lines, there's rare occasions that more issues could come up.
I have never had any issues with Virtual console games on my HDTV, but there is a solution for finicky TVs.
Plug a nunchuck into your Wiimote before starting your NES game. When the game starts, click on Operations Manual. When the Operations screen comes up, press the Z button on the nunchuck, and the a button, and 2 button on the Wiimote all together. You will hear a sound indicating you did this right. The system will auto ajust the game to your TV, so when you exit the operations screen, the game will display correctly.

Wii black screen

The following fix should help users who do have problems with some virtual console games for the Nintendo Wii that display only a black screen after starting them while the sound remains normal. This does not work in all occasions but should work if you get the Wii menu when you press Home and works only for games that received an update for the interlaced mode.
Try out the following to see if this fixes the issue. Start the game normally until you see the black screen. Connect the Nunchuck to the Wiimote and press Home to see the menu options. Now press A + 2 + Z together which should result in a short “ping-like” sound.
This should have activated the interlaced mode. Leave the menu and you should see the normal game screen and not the black screen anymore. To change the mode again press A + 1 + Z using the same method as above

Shuts off when you touch the touch screen!

Im guessing that your replacement screen is metal backed (the original had a poly-foam backing for a reason) ,,,, when you tap lightly it works, when you press hard your pressing the metal back of the screen onto the mini-board behind it and shorting it out

If you keep doing this you will damage the mini-board, take it back out and cover the metal back with sellotape or masking tape making sure to cover the whole metal back, (dont go up the sides or its impossible to get back into the cover).

Re-assemble as before and if it isnt too late for this you will have a working DS again.

Hope this isnt too late
