Same message, seems like its gonna go on for about 5 minutes and then beeps "E 13" on the screen. Manual only discusses E14 as being out of fuel...what the hell.

He's probably right, my problem wound up being that someone sabotaged my landlord's tank and filled it with water. Water is more dense then Kerosene, so it sunk to the bottom, got into the heater and ruined it so that it stopped working every time it got cold outside. They had to replace everything...hope it's just the water in the filter for you guys and not what happened to me!

If it is cold outside, below freezing the filter may have some water trapped in it, clean the filter and replace element in it and retry

SOURCE: we have a monitor 2400

Next time you try to start the unit listen to the pump on the lower right side of the unit. Just before the E13 message if you hear a thumping noise, you have a fuel problem. If you don't hear a thumping and there is a flame you have a problem with the inside of the burner. I would say since it's a 2400 you have a fuel problem. Low fuel, no fuel, dirty filter or blocked flue pipe.

I have a mpi 2400 monitor. I ran low on fuel so I went and got 4 or 5 gallons to keep it going till my delivery came, but it keeps shutting of and getting an error E 14. I know this means there are...

usually when you run out of oil,you need to bleed off air. there's a bleeder on pump looks like bleeder on a car brake cylinder.atach a piece of rubber hose and run to a bottle, open it up when pump is running till all you get is oil.

E 13 message on my monitor 2400. What do I do?

E13 means the heater failed to ignite. This could be because of the igniter, the circuit board, a fuel or fuel pump problem, the flame rod being dirty or grounded, The air pressure switch or an overheat occurred. First check the igniter. You can measure the resistance of the igniter with an ohmmeter, it should be somewhere around 16.8 ohms. If you hear a loud ticking or thumping sound before you get the code then you have a fuel flow problem. This can be because of the filter at your barrel or the strainer in the fuel sump or an air bubble in the fuel line. A dirty flame rod can be cleaned with some steelwool or fine grit sandpaper. Unplug the heater before cleaning the flame rod. If the fuel pump ran before you got the error code then the air pressure switch is ok because the fuel pump will not run if the airpressure switch contacts are not closed.

My monitor 2400 suddently goes into error 13, I shut the monitor off for a few minutes and then it starts again, it has gone into error for the paste 4 days about 2 tims per day can you give me some idea...

It could be a dirty fuel filter or the small strainer located inside of the heater that is restricting the fuel flow. The problem could also be with the flame rod being dirty or touching the burner ring.

I'm getting an "E 13" code on my Monitor 2400; what does that mean? I don't have a manual to tell me.

E 13 means ignition failure. You can see a list of error codes at www.monitorproducts.com. What happens when you try to light the heater? You can contact me at nitensheaterservice@embarqmail.com.

We have a monitor 2400 kerosene heater, it will start up and after a few minutes at most it shuts down and starts beeping and many times has a message "error 13"

I have a monitor 2200 that is reading ee 13. what does that mean?

EE13 on a Monitor is one thing. The same code on a Toyostove is completely different. A Monitor EE13 means there was no flame at ignition. On a toyostove EE13 is the burner thermistor.

On the Monitor I would check my fuel tank. On the Toyo you may have to have the dealer help you, as it could be something easy like a very cold day or more complicated as a main circuit board.

I have a Monitor 2400 oil heater. I would like a more detailed description of all the parts for this heater. Also I would like to find a listing of the possible error (e) codes that this heater may display...

I cleaned the fuel screen located on the unit and replaced the filter on the external fuel tank. The external filter can freeze if it accumulates enough water and the temp is cold enough, or it can just get full of debris. I also unplugged the 2400 for 30 min to let the factory preset settings come back. Filter(s) caused the e14 error, preset settings cured the e13 error caused by me fooling with the start stop function so much. Thanks for the help!
