Question about Jensen Car Speakers & Subwoofers

1 Answer

When my battery died my Jensen DVD player "asked" for it's security code. My son tried random numbers until the system locked him out and now it won't accept additional attempts to unlock it. I have the correct code but the system won't let me try again. How can I get back to where I can enter my security code

Hi. On most models, you have to leave it disconnected from the power for around 24 hrs, then when you re-connect, you will get a few more attempts. This is to stop people trying codes continuously until they crack it.

  • You can try to disconnect the battery again for 5 minutes and then reconnecting it and see if that brings your screen back up. If it does not then your radio has gone into PUK mode. PUK mode is what happens when the wrong code is entered to many times. It's a lock that can only be overridden by contacting the manufacturer of your radio. This is a security feature. Good luck.

My battery died on my 1993 vigor, I tried boosting it and started but now my radio is asking for a code. I dont have the code

look it up on the website or look in the owners manual....
If it was new when you purchased it than its a preset code (should be in manual)
if your not the first owner try to get ahold of the company to figure out how to reset it.
It sounds as though its one of the radios that is set up with an anti-theft code so if power is cut to it, it becomes locked up. hope this helps

this unit has security code use to input by the owner of the unit. you need to re-input this code every time you change battery or disconnect the DVD unit power. in case If you lost or forgot your code; You only might have to call SONY and send the DVD unit to SONY service center to clear the prevuos code for you ....

I have a 93 jaguar xj6, and my battery had died but now its charged and now my radio is saying "code", then it will say "waiting", how do i get it back to normal?

This is the type of problem that is experienced by some vehicles that have their audio players as part of their security systems. In other word, once the battery is removed or dies(or any other thing that could cause it to seem like the battery is inactive) the radio or audio player would ask you for a security code once it is re-connected.
To solve this problem, there are a couple of things you can do.
1. You can go through the car manual or through the security booklet that must have come with the car. Normally, this code is written down in one of these books or both of them.
2. Also, if you can contact your dealer or local jaguar dealer, he might be able to assist you by sending a complaint to the company and requesting for the code from the company.
3. You can decide to call jaguar yourself. This is not really the best option as they may not treat your request as a very serious one.
4. :Lastly, this is also not the best advised but you can if you have to do it. You can visit a very good car electronics or security systems shop and ask them to help you jump or hack the systems and override the code.
Hope this was helpful?

Try disconneting the car battery and leaving it for about 30 minutes, then reconnect it and try again.

Be warned though that if your head unit has a security code, you will need to make a note of this before you disconnect the battery as you will be asked to re-enter it when you reconnect the battery.

Since my battery died in my clio, the stereo keeps asking for a code,we have had two from renault now that have not worked,so they gave us a refund. What else can i do???

The radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .

If not then POST ANOTHER QUESTION

quoting the radio MAKE+MODEL plus ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS ,BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING

On RENAULT radios there should be a 14 character Serial Number beginning with RN************  or similar plus a Renault Security Number in the format TOA123 or TA123 or just A123 at the end of a barcode....so please quote everything you can find.

Also please quote the codes that you have already been given.

I know that you use numbers 1-4 I believe. Push button 1 2 times, button 2 6 times etc. I reember doing that for some model but can't remember what :-(. Anyway, try that. If no luck, give me make and model and I will do some resarch for you.
