Question about Compaq Presario 2538CL Notebook
I recently bought a used laptop, a Compaq Presario 2538CL. It seems to be working well. But before I install my own software programs, and surf the internet, I want to know how to start fresh with it: completely wipe the hard drive, reinstall Windows XP Home Edition and Windows updates, so that there is nothing left of the previous owners' stuff, and no security risk from the old stuff to whatever I do with the laptop now. How do I do this? And please remember, I'm just your average computer user, who can follow instructions, but doesn't know more about computers than the knowledge it takes to run most Windows-based software programs. Thanks!
