Question about NEC HT1100 Multimedia Projector
Hello. I have a NEC HT1100 projector and am using a Sharp BD-HP20U Blu-ray player. I recently purchased a Steren HDMI to DVI-D cable (30 foot) rather than using comp cable; however, though the projector's manual states the projector will disply up to 1080i via DVI, I get static when anything above 480p is selected on my blu-ray. I've disconneted and reconnected the cable, ran the cable straight from the bluray to the projector versus routing through my receiver (this actually made the static worse), and tried adjusting eveything I could through both my player and projector. Can you give a frustrated guy some advice?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: I am using a NEC
its a common problem of the video hardware in the laptop - it hasnt the ability to split the video "overlay" (often its decoded by something in the video chip, or at least a seperate bit of software and output seperate from the usual, slower windows & images data stream) off to the second screen & you just see the frame of the player.
if you set the external output to be the main/primary, or sometimes only active screen, it should work. you might also have a chance if you make it an extended desktop rather than a cloned one, then moving the player window entirely onto the projector's "screen"

Check the green signal lead - if one of the RGB leads doesn't make good contact, the picture will take on an odd tint that doesn't always look like it's missing one of those colours. For some reason, the green is always the most common one to fail.
