Question about Polaroid FLM-2625 26 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
A black rectangle appears on the screen after the tv is on for a short time. The rectangle covers a little less than half of the screen. It may or may not disappear in a few minutes. It disappears if the TV or the cable box is turned off and back on. It may then pop up again. We purchased this unit a few months ago and it has worked well up to a couple of weeks ago.
PS: what is the telephone number that the instruction manual says can be found next to a telephone icon?
Joe from what you describe it sounds as if the closed captioning display is turning on either through the tv or cable box if your's has that capability. Go to the menu on the tv and go to the setup option, from there you should be able to locate the closed captioning option and turn it off or disable it. The same may need to be done with your cable box if it is closed captioning compatible. I hope this is of some assistance to you. If I can help in anyway please let me know.
