How do I fix pixels on my tv screen

Usually solved by replacing the DLP chip (Google it) they cost around 180. If you have a couple hundred more I'd just go buy a Samsung LCD smart tv.

There are some white spots on the screen of the t.v. inside whenever the t.v is turned on another one comes on the television screen is almost full now i can hardly see the screen

This is a DLP type TV. Is it in a dusty environment. Could there be dust and dirt on the projector or inside the disply screen.

Also it could be the imaging unit having pixel failure.

Check first for a clean image path, including the internal mirror, if this doesn't help then it may be the image unit.

Samsung 42 inch projection tv. around 3 years old. have white dots on the screen. Payed a lot for this junk tv.

mikechamb606,

A model number would have helped me diagnose your unit but because you say that you have white dots on the screen, and the unit is only 3 years old, I will go with what I believe your problem is. I am assuming that you do not have a CRT projection unit. I believe you have an lcd projection tv which is starting to have TFT panel failures. As they age they lose more and more pixels which show up as white dots. The only cure for this is a new optical engine. Cost could be on the order of $350 US. The replacement is not that difficult and can be done using my tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4251975-replace_dlp_light_engine which will walk you through the process as well as link you to the best place to get the parts you need.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the excellent rating. Great ratings keep experts helping everyone solve their problems. Thank you.

Hi , 2 weeks ago i noticed some dead pixels showing up on my screen (white dots) since then i'm up to 10 dead pixels. What can i do? I heard it might be the dlp projector that has to be replaced...

White pixels are STUCK pixels, not dead. Read the warranty beacuse at a certain number of stuck/dead pixels, the tv is repaired for free by the seller if is in warranty period.

OUR 52" rear projection tv is now unwatchable because of white pixels everywhere on the screen. Started with a few now thousands

it sounds like a lot of dust in the light engine lens.usually pixel defects are purple or black...question is your set a lcd or a dlp format? and how large are the dots. if real tiny it will be dust. if large it will be insects... have a qualified serviceman take a look.. good luck...

TV made a buzzing noise then turned off. Now power light flashes

You have a very Technical problem with this TV. you may have 2 big problems, ballast and dmd. but it could be something else. If you decide to repair it, honestly you will spend more than 300dlls on it, if you like to, go to fixyourdlp.com

White pixels cover half of the bottom part of the screen

You probably have faulty lcd panels inside the tv. replacing them can cost alot of money. I assume you have tried different inputs? If the dots are in excactly the same place then the lcd panels or lcd controller are faulty.
