I think you will have to contact Steinberg directly, as it sounds like it's not something we can help with directly. Explain to them your problem and they may be able to give you a new key or re-activate your old one

I am not sure what your question is. If you need a license for the Camera Control Pro 2 you can purchase it from Nikon online, or several other retailers. If you have a license which does not work with an upgrad then you should contact Nikon and they will verify your license and resolve the problem for you.
If you are looking for an illegal license for CCP 2, then this is not the place to post.

When you mentioned the "protection device" I knew that you have to have something that is used to attach to a pc so the software will run. I managed a network for awhile and we had several pc's like that. I did some research about the Steinberg Cubase and found the following;

I can tell you why you are getting this error. How to fix it depends on the reason you are getting this error.
Windows software licensing means that a copy of Windows is only valid for a Single PC. As part of the installation process the Licence key is linked to the motherboard of the PC.
The error is telling you that the Licence key you have for Windows has been activated and linked to a specific Computer B IOS. You can re-activate it on that computer, you cannot install it on another computer.
There are 3 reasons you can be getting this error

• You have changed the motherboard or the BIOS chip in your machine and you are re-installing Windows. The Licence will not be accepted and this breaks MS licensing agreement.
• You are trying to re-use an existing Windows Licence on a different machine - Not allowed using a OEM (operator installed) version of Windows.
• You have reinstalled Windows on your machine using a different installation disc - this can cause confusion when re-installing an OEM version of the software. e.g. Dell branded OEM Windows will only install to Dell machines.

Assuming the licence is valid for the machine and the Motherboard you need to Contact your machine provider to get a valid installation disc - they may well charge for this service.

From what I have read, if you contact your regional Steinberg distributer they can issue you a new code if yours is lost. Or you could contact Steinberg directly here and request a new cd and licence (providing you can prove that it is a genuine product that you purchased).

Did you use and lose your blue key? If you did you can retrieve the licence number from your computer.

• Please attach the USB-eLicenser to the computer and open the eLicenser Control Center. In the eLCC, all connected eLicensers are listed, showing a 12 digit number (USB-eLicenser) or 20 digit number (Soft-eLicenser). This number is also needed to register the eLicensers in MySteinberg. So please make sure to have all keys registered in MySteinberg right after you bought them to have a comprehensive list of all your eLicensers.

You have to email Steinberg. They have steps they can send you to completely wipe out old licence information and start from scratch.
