How to repair Seagate HDD to avoid Blue screen errors.

As you have already found that there is some issue with your hard disk, it is recommended to contact nearest Seagate service center for assistance as this is probably a hardware issue. You are advised to take backup of as much data as possible because replacement of hard disk (if required) will result in loss of data on your current hard disk.

My Dell Dimension 2400 refuses to load Windows XP

Hi,
What happens?Does it hang on the loading page or does it restart itself before loading?
If it hangs on the loading page,press CTRL,ALT and DEL.This boots the system.
If it restarts itself,remove the hard disk and re-fix it again.Problem solved?
Remove the CMOS battery and the hard disk and re-fix them again.Problem solved?
If not,you may have to repair your operating system.
This how you do it:-
  • Remove your hard disk and enslave[fix it as a secondary drive] it on another machine with a good operating system.
  • Start the machine.Accept to run unnix[using two drives]
  • The machine will automatically detect your hard disk's failure on the operating system and repair the damaged files.
  • On completion and after Windows opens,turn off the machine and remove your hard disk.
  • Fix the hard disk now on your machine and start it.
Hope this helps.Thanks!

Hp desktop turns off by itself when i turn it back on it come on with no error or blue screen and turns itself back off later

hi,
Try removing the hard disk and the CMOS battery and re-fixing them after a while.
Check whether the RAMs are properly fixed into their slots.
Turn on your machine and observe.Problem solved?If not:-
Your operating system needs repair.Remove the hard disk and enslave[fix it as a secondary drive i.e.on the CD/DVD ROM connection] it to another machine with a good operating system.This will repair the corrupt files.
If problem persists,re-install the operating system again.

Hope it helps.Thanks!

Hi all. im not a computer expert, but i have an ASUS TERMINATOR K7, and when i turn it on, i have to wait a long time before it starts up with displaying bios information. Can someone help pls? Please...

The problem is that your computer has become overloaded with data. In other words, you have used up a lot of space on your hard disk and as such it will take it a long time before it can load all you items for you and that causes it to stay long before it boots.
If you want to solve the problem, you might need an expert help since you say you are not an expert but there are a few easy steps you might want to take.
These steps include, cleaning up your hard disk.
This is done by opening my computer and then locate your local disk C:, after seeing it, you can right-click on it then select properties.
It would show you the amount of free space left and you should see a button that says disk clean up, select this and follow the steps. It would help you get rid of unnecessary files in your computer.
The above may not really help much so you might need to get a third party software like tune-up utilities and defragment your hard disk and run a proper clean up.
Lastly, you might need a technician to help you upgrade your system as in increasing the RAM and processor speeds or you may ask him to help you format your system
Hope this solution was helpful? Please comment for more information and thank you for using fixya.

How old is your hard drive ? Hard drives eventually fail due to normal usage or it could be something else. You need to provide more information.

Hp computer. hard drive light is solid yellow ..non working

Hi 2xcapers

This could be a problem with your IDE or SATA cables that connect your Hard Disk to your Motherboard. Try replacing these before you try the next solution.

The constant yellow light usually indicates a crashed or non-functioning Hard Disk. You can take this to get repaired and only the data where the "Spindal Pin" crashed will be lost, otherwise the Hard Disk should still be fine. The screen does not come on during the event of a crashed or corrupted Hard Disk, so this is another indication that there is a problem with the Hard Disk.

Please remember to give this solution a FixYa! rating.

Error loading operating system

Hi,

An error message as you have posted would indicate:
1. The hard disk does not contain a valid operating system. Alternately, it may have the OS installed but some files are missing or corrupted;
2. The partition of your hard disk may have been deleted/missing;
3. The hard disk is no longer recognized by the computer;
4. Your CMOS/BIOS is set to boot from the CD/DVD only but it does not contain a bootable disc;

Corrective measures may include any or all of the following:
a. Load and use the restore/recovery CD of your PC if it came with one;
b. Repair or re-partition of hard disk;
c. Repair or re-format of hard disk;
d. Repair or re-install the Operating System;
e. Re-configure CMOS/BIOS to boot from the hard disk (HD) first;
f. Worst case scenario is replaced hard disk and re-install Operating System.

It is possible that you would loose most if not all of your documents, files and/or data unless you can do a back-up.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
