Question about Whirlpool LGR7646E Dryer

Whirlpool gas dryer runs but won't heat

Hello, I have a whirlpool gas dryer model # LGR4634JQ2, only about 3 or 4 years old, yesterday I noticed the dryer was still going on the cool down cycle, so I opened it and noticed there was no heat either, I tried it on the very hot cycle and it didn't produce heat or advance. We cleaned out all the lint that was trapped inside back left of the dryer and we checked the vents which have worked until now, and that did not solve it, I was reading about it and I thought it may be the thermal sensor. What do you think my problem may be? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Stella

Hi stella. yes the problem is with the thermal fuse. when you were cleaning the vent at the left. the thermal fuse is right there, on the air duct, a small piece of plastic with 2 blue wires to it . replace the thermal fuse . thanks the appliance doc

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

Heat won;t turn on

It could be several other things thermal fuse, thermal cut out, hi limit thermostat, dryer coils, heat sensor,or igniter. All of these parts are inexpensive and easy to test and replace. There is a video at t http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html his will walk you thru the troubleshooting of these components. It may be a different model but the troubleshooting will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available. If you need help disassembling your machine there are videos of this also for most styles.

My two year old dryer doesn't heat up Anyone know why? Or how to fix it?

I noticed you said it would not heat up and you made no mention it would not run and I assume you paid the gas bill so I would first check for air restrictions in and around the dryer. I would clear the restrictions and then check the duct fuse.a24ab96.jpg

Whirlpool dryer model LGQ80000JQ4 starts to heat and runs then stops heating, but rest of dryer seems to run fine

Hello, This problem is going to be your safety valve coils...basically they get old and over time of heating then cooling develop a short when they heat up...It may appear the gas lights to start but then goes out until the safety valve coils cool back down. Here is a picture of the coils 57d5263.jpgThis The coils are mounted to the gas safety valve, This should solve your problem. Hope this helps, Please feel free to comment again if you have any further questions or concerns. Good Luck! Mike

Whirlpool Gas Dryer - Model LGB6200KQ1 Serial # mm2105815 Heat comes and goes. Can heat fine for a few loads then stops. Then starts again. Any ideas

Sounds like it is running Hot, Clean you venting out and make sure the weather hood outside is not blocked.

Vacuum out the lint filter area.

Your dryer also may have worn seals, how old is it? 10 to 12 years running a load a day average? it may be time for a new dryer or rebuild yours.
