I lost my emails since I upgraded from windoows xp to windows 7

Features available through Yahoo! Mail include unlimited storage, the ability to view photos and videos from your inbox and the ability to send 50 files or 100MB worth of attachments in a single email.

You can also access Yahoo!'s instant messaging software from your inbox and check email on your mobile phone and other Internet-enabled devices.

Before signing up for Yahoo! mail, check its compatibility with your version of Internet Explorer.Standard Yahoo! Mail

Yahoo! Mail's standard interface works with Internet Explorer 7 and higher. However, Internet Explorer 7 users may be unable to use the reply bar, slideshows or Yahoo! Messenger from their inbox.

To access these features, use at least Internet Explorer 9. All Internet Explorer users must have Windows 7, XP or Vista to use the standard form of Yahoo! mail. Mac operating systems using Internet Explorer are not supported by the current version of Yahoo! Mail.
Older Option

Users who want to use Yahoo! Mail Classic will find it compatible with Internet Explorer 6, as well as newer versions of the browser.

Yahoo! announced to customers in July 2011 that it would soon stop supporting Internet Explorer 6. Yahoo! Mail Classic works with Windows 2000, XP and Vista, as well as Windows 7.

Yahoo! Mail Classic lacks many of the upgrades found in the current version of the email program.

Upgrades
While Yahoo! Mail supports older versions of Internet Explorer, the company recommends that users upgrade to the most current version.

Yahoo! says using the newest browser software provides more speed and added protection against viruses and software.
Enabling ActiveX

If you plan to use the current version of Yahoo! Mail on a Windows machine, you'll want to enable your computer's ActiveX controls so you can access all the features of the email program.

To do this, go to the "Tools" menu or the gear symbol in Internet Explorer, then select "Internet Options" and "Security."

Click on "Internet," then "Custom Level."
Scroll down to "Run ActiveX Controls and Plugins" and "Script ActiveX Controls Marked Safe for Scripting." Enable each of these options and save your settings.

Reboot Internet Explorer.

No toolbar cannot reply, forward compose and delete

Good Day!

Change your internet browser. Or switch to other brand.
The best way is to upgrade the version you are using.

After that, log in to yahoo mail and everything will be working again.

For reference, here you can download common internet browser
1. Internet Explorer 8
2. Mozilla Firefox
3. Google Chrome

Hope it helps!
Don't forget to rate.

Unable to access my e-mails when I click on my inbox as directed through recent upgrade. The little arrow only spins, but does not open my e-mails. I need this problem fixed ASAP. What needs to be done?

Hello!

Actually, the problem is not with your email account, but with your internet browser unable to full access Yahoo.

Two possible fix to your problem, but it requires an hour to fix your email account.

First, whatever internet browser you are using (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.)
clear all caches, remove all cookies and clear everything in your browsing history. This should be done in the TOOLS menu of your internet browser. Then, access again Yahoo and log in.

Second, if the first fix do not work, use alternate internet browser to access your Yahoo mail account. If you do not want to use different browser, I recommend you uninstall it, download an upgrade version and install it to your system.

The next time you access Yahoo mail, it will be successful.

Good Luck!

Why do you ask for money if its supposed to be free

Hallow,
A free mail is only active for three months approximately if you dont log in reguraly. When you upgrade to mail plus your mail is secure even if you do not log in in the three months allowed. Reactivating a free mail makes you loose all your data thats why yahoo recommends that you upgrade to yahoo mail plus. You can still use your yahoo mail for free in the sense that you sign in before the duration often for years and years.

I want to go back to Yahoo Mail Classic

Log into your yahoo email account. When it is finished loading, look to the right near the top for Options. Click the little down arrow and select Mail Classic. It will prompt you to confirm your choice and just answer that you want to switch back.

On a side note, I just received an email notice from Yahoo that within the next month, they are going to urge everyone to upgrade to their new email version. It read like it was going to be mandatory to upgrade. Will wait and see on that one, myself.

Thank you for using FixYa.com

Is yahoo email POP3, SMTP, or IMAP?

The regular Yahoo! Mail accounts (US) do not provide access via the POP3, SMTP and IMAP email protocols. So you cannot access a Yahoo! Mail account with a standard email program (e.g., Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird), unless you take some additional steps.

Here are some options that can provide POP3/SMTP access to Yahoo! Mail:

(1) Yahoo! Plus - paid upgrade
Yahoo offers a paid upgrade for its email accounts. The "Yahoo! Plus" account provides POP3 and SMTP access; the cost is $20/year. For details see:
http://overview.mail.yahoo.com/enhancements/mailplus
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html
(BTW, I'm not sure that's a particularly good deal, but it is relatively simple to implement.)

(2) YPOPs! - free software
This program is a "POP3 gateway", which allows Yahoo Mail to be received and sent via any standard email program. You'll need to download the free program and install it; then configure both the Yahoo account settings in your email program and in YPOPs, so they will work together. For details and download, see:

http://ypopsemail.com/
For configuration guidance, see articles at:

I upgraded my e-mail from the basic level but the ads reappeared

You need to contact Yahoo! directly with this problem; even if someone here knows how to fix it, unless they are with Yahoo!, they won't be able to help you. You might check their user forums too.
