Hey Comrade,

The manual says to push the volume down button, sometimes that works if you continue to push it repeatedly and the last setting is off. I don't see anything about disabling "call screening" which is the proper term for that feature, but the full manual might have more about it. Hope that does it for you. Its on page 36 of the manual, and I pasted the link below. If it doesn't have a feature to disable the "call screening" on the base speaker totally so you cannot hear it you can go to your local electronics store, purchase a two dollar toggle switch (I know I just bought five yesterday), and with a soldering iron, you can unsolder one side of the speaker wire, strech it over to the switch, and take another spare wire, and solder it to the other end of the switch and back to the speaker. take an exacto knive or the tip of your soldering iron, and find a place on the housing of the machine that looks cool and does not interfere with any of the electronics or reassebly, and drill a hole to fit the switch. Push the switch through, screw down the nut that holds it and BAM, you got a customized speaker off button, and you can still hear the phones ring through the handset. heres the manual link- http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTG6021.PDF Later, CG

I have a kx-tg6051m..My personal answering is there, but my messages got to a auto voice mail...I' missing important calls..help!

Make sure your answering machine is turned on as detailed on page 30 of the manual: http://www.fixya.com/support/p536646-panasonic_kx_tg6051m_5_8_ghz_cordless_ph/usermanual-9C0F744-PDF

Are the messages going to the voicemail system provided by your telephone company? This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone, or if you and your answering machine don't answer. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

Hello! Have you re-registered the handsets? If not go to page 39...If you have re-registered the handsets...Pull the batteries for 1 hour...reinstall batteries...allow handsets to set in the cradle for 1 minute then test...

New phone says I have a new voice mail and there isnt one on it

If your phone line has voicemail service from your phone company, that's where you'll find your message. The voicemail indicator on the phone is there to let you know there are waiting messages that you should pick up. Otherwise you won't know that until you go to make a call and hear the stutter (interrupted) dialtone the phone company sends you when you have messages. Follow whatever procedure your phone company gave you to pick up your messages.

My phone keeps blinking telling me I have a new message and then when I check it, it tells me I have no new messages

Try unplugging phone line and power cord to main phone unit for a couple of minutes. Then, plug everything back in. That should do the trick. It's happened to me before and can be quite annoying - I know. If you're still having trouble after trying the above you may need to call your service provider to refresh you line (especially if your phone svc is bundled with your other cable svcs). Hope this was helpful. Vote/Rate this solution.

Talking on phone, someone calls in & leaves message, can't locate

Thanks for the opportunity to help with your problem. If you also have voice mail through your phone service provider, it's possible that while you are on the phone, the incoming call is "waiting" (meaning you are hearing a beep while you are still talking assuming you have call waiting). If you don't pick up the incoming call, your caller will hear your "voice mail" message and leave a message. However, your answering machine will not indicate that you have a message.

If my assistance was of any benefit whatsoever, please give me a rating so I can continue to improve my service. Thanks for using FixYa.com.

Panasonic KX-TG6051M 5.8 GHz -Caller ID view problem

I have a panasonic KX-TG6051CM 5.8 phone with 3 handsets. After less than a year 2 of the 3 handsets developed the same problem, almost in the same time ( a couples of hours apart). The battery indicator shows low battery and is charging continuously even though the battery is fully charged ( when i swap the battery with my 3rd handset, the battery indicator shows fully charged and works fine ). The handsets were never dropped, never used in a moisture ladden environment ( like bathroom ) and when not in use they were kept in the charger. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.
