Question about Sharp Televison & Video

Open Question

I have a Sharp TV LC13SH1E and I would like to use my Dell E1505 with it to show powerpoints. I have a cable for the computer to attach to the TV. Nothing comes up on the TV when I pull everything in and do the settings. what does happen is when I close my laptop screen just before it is completely closed mt computer screen comes up on the Tv for just a few seconds. I know my computer does this because i tested the cable and computer with a phillips and it works. Could you tell me what I need to do to get the TV and my computer to talk to each other so i can use the TV for powerpoint preentations. Thank you! Julie Netti

SOURCE: turn off closed caption on input(component) on Sharp Aquos 42"

Had this happen on a Comcast box (Motorola DCT 6416 III)
Here's how to fix it:
Turn the cable box off, leave fully connected. Press Menu on the remote
The cable box internal menu will display (Not the Comcast one the Motorola one-- i.e. Display ratios-16:9 etc It's in black and white)
Use the arrows to cursor to the Closed Captioning and toggle to "Disabled" Press Manu again to exit and Voila!

Power the box on an have at it

I want to connect a Dell Inspiron E1405 to a TV with a VGA cable

As long as your TV supports VGA then you should be fine. Just a reminder that your computer has an easy function key that you can use to switch to the VGA connection.

Key: <Fn><F8> (Ref page 33)

My dell d630 laptop wont recognize my infocus lp70+ remote control and I can't advance my powerpoint slides with the remote control

Here's what the User's Manual says:

Using the Remote Control

To advance PowerPoint slides with the projector's remote, you

must connect the USB cable on the projector's computer cable to

the computer. See page 8 for more information.

Point the remote control at the projection screen or at the front or

rear of the projector (not at the computer). The range for optimum

operation is about 30 feet. If you point the remote at the

projection screen, the distance to the screen and back to the projector

must be less than or equal to 30 feet. For best results, point

the remote directly at the projector.

If you are displaying presentations in Microsoft® PowerPoint®,

you can use the remote's Previous and Next buttons to navigate

through your presentation while in Slide Show mode.

My Dell E1505 won't allow me to go wireless. My

Ideally, see if we can isolate the issue.

Disable the built-in antenna.

Try connecting to the wireless via a USB wireless antenna. (hopefully you can borrow one).

If you can connect, then I would say you need to replace the built-in antenna. Or you could keep using the USB antenna.

Good luck

Have you considered simply using a VGA to RCA cable where you plug the VGA into your monitor port and the RCA plugs into your television? Then you simply play the PowerPoint slideshow on your computer and it shows on your TV (Choose Video1, 2, or 3). Then you don't need Dazzle! You can get one at Radio Shack...

Cmos jumper or switch dell e1505

Hi there.
As far as i know there is no CMOS jumper in the dell E1505, but what you can do is remove the motherboard battery for an hour to hopefully reset the bios.
Take the main battery out of the laptop as well as the AC power supply so the laptop is receiving no power at all. Push the lid back as far as it will go and remove the hinge cover like this >>>>
ec4b612.jpg
Now you have to lift the keyboard, there are 2 screws at the top of the keyboard so unscrew them and gently lift the keyboard up like this >>>>>>
8b42c8e.jpg

You will see in the illustration the motherboard battery, just take it out for an hour and then put it back in, please be careful with the keyboard as there is a delicate ribbon cable, if you have to, remove the keyboard from the motherboard.
To release the keyboard cable from the keyboard connector on the motherboard, rotate the plastic bar on the keyboard connector toward the front of the computer.

Please post back with the results and more help if needed, good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Show Microsoft Power point on Sharp Aquos hdtv

try to right click the desktop and choose graphics options, you will have to select the correct output for your setup. i.e. laptop to monitor, etc etc see if that works,...sounds like you have a connection, you will have to play with these settings until it pops up. worked with a similar scenario, sometimes you have to do stufff twice and it works on the second time not the first, electronics are weird.
keep changing the settings in the graphics options until it comes up the way you want it.
