I know my computer does this because i tested the cable and computer with a phillips and it works. Trying to connect dell desktop to my Samsung DLP HL-R5064W tv through vga cable to watch movies. Toggle source button on remote to pc, but receive an out of range message. please help

Hi,

"Out of range" message indicates that the output from your computer to display it from your Samsung HLR5064W DLP TV is too large. You need to adjust the screen resolution settings for you TV. I have attached images of display settings dialog boxes from different versions of Windows.

You may open the display settings of your computer by clicking on START > CONTROL PANEL > DISPLAY. While your TV is connected, click on IDENTIFY button. You will notice that numbers 1 and 2 will appear briefly on your screens consecutively. As the dialog box shows 2 monitors with numbers 1 and 2, click on the monitor with "2" on it. Then, adjust resolution to 1280 x 720 as this is the highest resolution your TV can handle. You may adjust the TV (monitor #2) to be IDENTICAL or to EXTEND the display of your computer. You can also assign it as the main monitor but not recommended. Click OK then try to toggle your computer's display. You should be able to see a display from your TV this time.

I hope this works for you. Kindly reply for further assistance. Good Luck!

I don't have the remote, the picture in the TV does not cover the entire screen, it shows about 4to6 inches of emptyness at each side, what can I do to make the picture cover the hole screen?

To adjust the picture size on the television itself you would need a Sharp remote because there is a view mode button on it but there may be another way. If you are connecting a cable box or satellite tv receiver box to this television that remote should have an hd zoom # button or format button or aspect button that would adjust the picture size. The tv would have to be in the right input and the cable box or satellite tv receiver box would have to be set to the proper resolution according to what this tv is supposed to be able to display.

How can I attach an HDMI BluRay player to my TV

Blu-ray attaches to component inputs. Component cables are the red-green-blue cable and the red and white for sound.
Out on the blu-ray to 'In' on the TV.
Here is your owner's manual. see page 19

My Sharp 56DR650 LED Blinking

Check the number of time it blinks. that is the error code and compare it with the problem listed in the owners manual. see www.fixurtvs.com. The code 32 means the color wheeel is getting stuck. You can try to clean it and put it back or look for a replacement. Repairs should cost you 350 to 450 at shop and 150-250 at home subject to the availability of parts. Cleaning it just a stop gap measure and not a lasting solution. dont worry if the wheel opens up into two with black dust inside. Just clean it put a drop of light machine oil like sewing machine and put it back. there will be hum but the wheel works for months and maybe a year. it varies from tv to tv and quality of your workmanship.

Attach laptop to hitachi 51s500 tv

See if on the back of the TV, and on the computer you have an external type VGA type connector. You then have to purchase a long VGA interface cable to go between the laptop and the TV set.
The TV must be compatible to receive the VGA and external audio from your computer, and the computer must be capable to drive external audio/video devices.
Another issue that must be worked out is both the TV and computer must have compatible screen resolution rates. You will have to get the information about the display card in the computer, and compare it to the specs of the TV set. If these do not match up in to proper range you will either have a very stretched or compressed picture, or you may not be able to have any results at all.
If the scan rates are too far out, it is possible to damage the TV set!

If everything is technically correct, you will also have to purchase compatible cables to go from the lap top external audio output to the correlated audio input connectors on the TV. This is an adapter type audio cable.
For these cables, you will have to determine the connector end types on each of the units, so that you can go to any audio/video supply store and properly pick them out.
There is a simpler solution, but it will not have good picture quality. You can buy a VGA to baseband video converter box (if these are still available). These are not cheap but they can work if set up properly and the scan rates can be matched. You attach the converter box to the external VGA port on the computer, and then use its output via the proper baseband video cables to drive the TV set. The scan rates will still have to match. The quality will be very poor.

Watch Computer on Mitshubishi WS-55819. Help me please.

Look on the back of the set and see if you have a VGA connection available. On many of the HD series they do. If id does it should also have a audio in via rca jacks or a 3.5mm stereo jack. If the set does not have a VGA input on it , look on the Laptop and see if it does have S-Video out. If it does, you can probably use it in the S-Video in on the TV and run the Audio out from the Laptop to the audio in of the S-Video Input you are using. I would use the VGA Jack if available. Be aware that if it does and you use it it will only work in low 800x600 at 60Hz.
Hope this helps,
Skyassoc

The Sharp people told us they have had 35 complaints in my area about the Cable company signal (Cablevision) screwing up these t.v.s. Seems the digital channel settings are not compatible with the signal. I tried to confirm this with the cable company and they have no plans to fix anything on their side. If I unhook and re-hook the cable, the t.v. seems to work again. This is annoying because it happens on ABC where my favorite shows are!
