It will more than likely cost more to fix than to replace. is it still under warranty? take back just dont tell them that it was dropped, tell them it just working one day. later go, redwings go obama,

My playstation 3 has a blinking red light.

Ok if its just a red light its probably your internal power supply has gone bad its a square metal or plastic piece inside the console. Sometimes but not to likely you need to reflow your cpu and gpu chip. Now if its shows a yellow light you have yellow light of death and will definately have to reflow the cpu and gpu chips. Hope this helps.

Bottom right quarter of power glowing red and error e74 on screen, what do I do to fix this.

to fix this problem you need to open up the xbox, remove the motherboard from the metal enclosure.and remove the aluminun plate from the GPU, that will be the long flat one, not the tall one.
after you remove it, you need to turn it on and it will change from 1 red light to 2 red lights, it means over heating. unplug the xbox, because it won't turn off. put the plate back in, make sure it is strait so it seats flat on the GPU, plug the machine back on and it will work.(this wil be that esasy in 85% of the cases)
If it does not work you need to remove the plate and CLEAN the THERMAL CONPOUND from the GPU and Aluminun plate, and then aplly some NEW thermal compund on the gpu, put the metal piece on it again a nd try it on !

you can go to any pc shop and get the thermal compound and the remover, it should solve your problem

1 red light on xbox tv says e74

This happens a lot which is then i followed by the 3 red rings(red rings of death). is what you need to do is open your'e console, their are help video's on U tube for this. Once your console is open and you have the mother board taken out you need to remove the heat sinks which are on top of the chips. just un-snap the x clamps (on the bottom of the motherboard) and take off the heat sinks. unscrew the tabs on the bottom of the heats sinks and take them out. now take one of the heat sinks to a hardware store and find 8 screws about an inch long that screw into the heat sinks, also buy 16 plastic washers and 8 metal washers that fit onto the screws.also try to find a BUTANE Torch this will save you from the expensive heatguns and work just as good. the last thing you need is Arctic Silver 5 which can be found for 5 bucks on ebay. now once you have this you need to lay your motherboard on a flat inflammable area. light the torch and make shure it is on the LOWEST setting and that the flame is about 3/4 inch long and make a sort on hissing sound. make shure the top of the chips are cleaned with a paper towel of the paste. start with the torch about 3 inches over a chip and keep it moving with a sweeping motion after about 30 seconds start to get close but not to close about an inch an a half away and keep making sweeping and circular movements for about 2 min. do not get to close. now move to the next chip and do the same thing. now after ur done with the chips move the torch away about 3inches and keep heat on both chips for another minute and let them cool for a total of 10 to 15 minutes. once they are cool to the touch clean off the metal parts of the chips with alcohol (I prefer acetone too) make shure they have a mirror like finish and put a very little glob of the arctic silver on the metal chips and evenly flaten it out till it covers them evenly, make sure to apply enough! ( i used the side of a allen wrench, its less messy). now on the bottom of both heat sinks, clean them off with acetone or alcohol and scrub them very firmly to get off the grime from the paste. now put one plastic washer on each screw and insert them through the bottom of the holes surrounding the chips flip the mother board over and put the other 8 plastic washers on the screws and on top of these put on the 8 metal washers. then put the heat sinks on and tighten them down. once you put the mother board in the metal casing, plug it in(dont fully assemble it yet) now test out your xbox by pressing the little button on the ring of lights board and let it boot up a usual. If it works then ur done, but if 3 red lights start blinking or two red light start blinking you need to adjust the 8 screws. through the 8 holes in the bottom of the metal casing stick a small screwdriver in there and make sure they are all snug but not to tight and then loosin each one about an 1/8 of a turn till there just a little loose. keep testing and adjusting the screws till it boots up with the green lights.

16 plastic washers
8 metal washers(make sure all the washers fit snugly around the screws and are very thin)
8 screws about an inch long that fit heat sinks
Butane blow torch, just a small one will do
small torx wrench kit. big and small flat and phillips head screwdrivers

Can't put ANY disc in! White plastic piece blocking my way.

you will have to crack it open again like you did before, when you have the metal case and the top guide cover off you will see 4 little rollers , two on each side, these guide the disk in. .
(with the console front facing you) in th middle you will see the offending white stopper, DONT TRY AND FORCE IT DOWN !!! this will really bugger it up.
the problem is , the system thinks there is still a disc in there , so were gunna trick it o.k ?
to do this you need the system on. for the sake of your eyes put the round white cup with the magnet in it over the lens, magnet side up.
VERY IMPORTANT !!! do not touch anything other than i say.....zap!
turn it on and touch the sensor to load it up (hold the cover over it to locate it exactly)
in front of the right front roller you will see a white stick poking up that has its own little track it can travel around. gently guide that stick back , you should notice the system starting to read and all the rollers will slide open (you may have to help them a little (touch only the rollers)
when there all back , you system thinks theres a disc in , so press the eject sensor (line it up with the cover again)
watch with joy as the white stopper drops down.
good luck

Iam have problems with my ps3 i dropped it and now it dosent want to turn on the green light comes on for a second goes to orange then to red wat do you think could be wrong with it

You broke it when you dropped it. It's a delicate piece of machinery and isn't meant to be dropped. Sorry to break it to you, but your PS3 is basically a rock now.

If it's under warranty send it back, if it's not then do this. Order a replacement power switch online, ebay is pretty good for psp parts. There's 5 screws holding the front cover of the PSP together two on the right that are recessed, you'll need a long skinny precision screwdriver , there's two more under the warranty stick behind the battery and one more in the middle of the silver metal piece. The power stick assembly is a separate board that plugs into the psp and a easy repair. Just be careful once you remove the faceplate one dust particle and you'll be taking it apart again to clean the inside of the screen.
