The TV is a plasma screen. There are several circuit boards that will go bad over time that affects the picture quality. TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy You can get the parts here and replace those boards yourself.
Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem.Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together.When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines.You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!
You probably have one or more bad CRT's causing the problem. Due to the age of the set and cost of repair, I would not invest the money needed to repair the set properly. I would replace all three CRT's and the cost would run over 1000.00 up to 1300.00 .
With the cost of new sets today, you could replace it.

Ghost image and snowy colorful pixelation with vertical black bars? You can try a hard reset by unplugging the unit completely for 4 hours. However you may have a prob with the YSUS and the YBU-L (YBuffer Upper-Lower.) Perhaps even the Logic Main may be defective. If you are still under warranty take it to a service center ASAP. If your seeing vertical line across the screen you need to check the components in the vertical stage as well as the vertical IC could be bad, or the yoke could open.
Also check if any voltage reaching the vertical stage.
