Is the disc clean? Is the console dust free and clean? Is it well ventilated? Is disc scratched? On top or bottom? If scratched on bottom you can have it resurfaced for about $2.00 if it is scratched on top you are out of luck because that side is the memory side and the disc will not ever work again. Try to see if it will play in a PS3. If you don't have one or if you don't anyone with one try to call a game store that sells them and see if they will let you see if it will play in their PS3.

In order to play copied games, you will first have to mod your PS2. To avoid piracy, much of the necessary info on the original disc will be omitted during the copy phase. When you "mod" or put in a new chip, The PS2 can now bi-pass this info and continue to the game. Regardless of the type of PS2 you have, you must put in a mod chip to read back-ups.
hey! calm down boy, now here, just listen and follow or do what i said exactly ok, now, go to your mom and ask some money to buy the head cleaner or disc drive cleaner. do you know what is that? its a cd software that you are going to insert to the PS2 drive and it clean will clean the eye of your ps2 drive, so that it can read the cd. ok. you can buy this cd cleaner on the radioshock. ok
Does this happen to all of your Discs? If you know someone who also has a PS2, try to run your discs first on that PS2...If they worked, then probably either the lens of your PS2 needs to be replaced, or it only needs cleaning. Or it is also possible that your disc isn't inserted on the disc tray properly...and by "inserted properly " on the tray I mean is to make sure that the 3 pins on the spinner of your PS2 are sticking out of the hole on the DVD and thus gripping the disc...
IF THE DISC IS NOT BEING READ THEN THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE LENS INSIDE THE PS2. IF IT IS BEING REA THEN TRY OPENING THE PS2 TAKE OF THE TOP. LOCATE THE TRAY COVER AND THERE IS A WHITE OBJECT IN THE MIDDLE, TRY SPINING IT. IF IT DOSEN'T MOVE THEN PLAY WITH IT UNTIL ITS LOOSE. ThEN TRY PLUGIN BACK THE PS2 AND INSERTING A GAME (DO NOT PUT THE TOP BACK ON) INSERT THE GAME AND SEE IF THE WHITE OBJECT IS TURNING WHEN THE DISC IS READING..
IF IT IS THEN THE DISC IS SPIINNING,
HOPE IT WORKS FOR U.
