Guess you need to change your graphics card on it or check the settings of this game under video options.

Hi. When I try to play a game such as Starcraft or Stepmania that takes up the entire screen, instead of playing fullscreen, it has a letterbox effect with the black bars to the left and right of the game....

Hi I had the same problem you need to either go into the games properties or settings and change it to full screen in the screen size section if this doesn't work you need to download directx 9.0

You have the wrong screen resolution. Lower your resolution and it will work fine.

I want to hook laptop up to tv

after you hook the cable up to the tv, go into the tv's menu to make sure the input mode is set to s-video. then go into the control panel on your laptop and find the settings for your video card and set the output to "TV" or "Clone"

Let me know :)

Full screen

What games do you play?
In some internet games you can press F11 for full screen.
Though in most games you have to go through their menu's to get full screen.
In windows the default keystroke for fullscreen in Alt, Enter pressed together.
Though that is not a guarantee either.
Generally how to get full-screen is different from game to game in some sort of settings menu.
For instance I play Last Chaos online and it is automatically full-screen.
When I played runescape online I had to select full-screen at the log in screen.

White screen problem in acer aspire 4710

You will have to disconnect and reconnect the video signal plug located under the upper cover (the one with the power button on it). Best you start with a screwdriver in the very corner).

Additionally I removed a small magnet located under the lid cover (remove 6 screws under rubber placers and lift the lid), which I found next to the video cabling. This could have affected the video signal negatively. Lets see how long this fix lasts.....
