It is possible that the defrost timer has failed while in defrost. The defrost timer can be found inside the control panel inside the fresh food compartment. The defrost timer is location number 13 in the photo=>HERE You can test the defrost timer by going through a small opening in the control panel or by opening the control panel and using a flat head screwdriver and turning the timer dial slowly clockwise until the compressor and fans restart. If this starts the refrigerator again then you will need to replace the timer because it is defective. I am here should you have questions, Sea Breeze Your model uses a=> 68233-2 Defrost Timer
I would think it is a defrost problem that is the first symptoms on most refrigerator. Look inside the freezer is ice building onone of the walls like this PHOTO? Can you locate the model number around the fresh food section door? With the model number I can see if there is a defrost timer, ADC or motherboard controlling defrost. Thanks for a model number. If I cannot help someone will with a model number to go by, Thanks Sea Breeze
How to check
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer
are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of
cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.
check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In
most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board.
If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.
You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks
and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace
the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the
timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.
