Question about RCA F36645 TV
I HAVE A RCA 62" FLAT SCREEN PROJECTION TV THAT IS APPROX 5-6 YEARS OLD. THE PICTURE IS FLICKERING IN AND OUT OCCASIONALLY, AND THE COLOR GOES OUT OCCASIONALLY AND EVERYTHING TURNS RED. IN THE PAST WHEN THE TV WAS UNDER WARRANTY WE HAD TO HAVE THR GREEN COLOR TUBE REPLACED. IS THIS WHAT IS HAPPENING AGAIN? IT SEEMS DIFFERENT. WHAT ELSE COULD BE GOING WRONG? I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO REPLACE THIS TV, BUT DON'T WANT TO PAY HUGE $$ TO HAVE IT REPAIRED EITHER. PLEASE HELP.
Sounds like the red picture tube could be shorting internally which would cause the "all red" condition. In which case you'd have to replace the red tube. Are there horizontal (slightly slanted) lines through the picture as well when this is happening and a very very bright screen? If so it's most likely the tube.
