Connect VGA (D-sub 15 pin) cable from PC to TV (RGB PC) input jack. Connect audio cable from PC to TV. Set screen resolution on PC to be compatible with TV, such as 800 X 600 or 1024 X 768 etc. Select on the TV, the PC INPUT using the TV remote when ready to use as monitor.
Under PICTURE on the TV select SCREEN (RGB-PC). You can AUTO-CONFIG or you can set resolution manually to the same you set PC to. Other adjustments can be done here as well to get optimum picture on TV from PC.
I have a LG plasma and I am trying to connect my PC via VGA and I am getting the "Invalid Format" - can you please tell me what is the problem? Thank you
hello try changing the picture ratio...what i mean is try 16.9 widescreen or 4.3 ledder box the tv is tryn to produce a pic bigger or smaller than what you have keep tryn different picture ratio's
This should help you. I think Chris Duckworth said it best. "sounds to me like your refresh rates or resolution may be set too high on the XP machine."
Go to this website to get the rest about setting up your tv as a monitor. Type invalid in the word search to get to the relevant section.
you have not mention the model of lg 32" what i suggest is lower the resolution of your hp pc tp 800 by 600 and gradualy increase the res to get the picture which matches the plasma
hope this will solve your problem
Go into your control panel.
Select display.
There will be a picture showing 2 screens.
Select the 2nd screen, and lower resolution to it's minimum.
Apply and test.
Slowly increase till you find what your happiest with.
Worked for me using a ASUS laptop and LG60'plasma.
Hi Sarah, You may want to try lowering the resolution of your computer down first before connecting the 42PX5D. Since everything seems to be working except when you get to the desktop then your PC might be set to a resultion that's too high for the LG (am not 100% sure, but I think that LG's max res is 1024 X 768). Try to adjust your PC's resolution while still connected to a regular monitor, right click on any free/clear part of your desktop and click properties. Display Properties window will pop-up, click on Settings tab, adjust Screen resolution towards the left, trym lowest posiible, color quality, again lowest possible. Then hook it up to the LG. If desktop now displays in LG, do the same again but this time going up. Do it by increment and stop when LG screen goes blank. Press escape to go to setting prior to blank. Adjust color quality best setting acceptable to the LG. Good luck and hopes this work out for you. Regards.
