Re: Problem with this unit
The washer has a field service mode. To enter the service mode: 1. Press the POWER key to turn the washer on. Make sure the HOME screen is displayed. 2. Press HELP. 3. Press and hold MY CYCLES and BACK simultaneously for 3 seconds. The display should display any recorded errors. write them down, including all MORE screens. This should be enough to get you started. Note: You must press EXIT and unplug the washer to clear all error messages and to activate the setup mode program. After repairs are made, you have to run a setup / self diagnostic check to get washer operating again. (prompts on screen when plugged back in and turned on) We can't ask for or give out email's, however if it slipped in an ask me maybe some scanned pages from a service manual might be had. This is most likely an involved exchange. Don't know how much info (ie: free time and advice) I'll be able to allow.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Whirlpool (who makes your machine) and others have put in microprocessor controls and diagnostics to "improve" the machine and "improve" trouble shooting for repairs. Unfortunately the opposite has pretty much occurred.
You problem could be the central control unit, the motor control unit, the door lock assembly or the wiring. The top suspects are the CCU and the door lock assembly.
If you undo the lower panel you should find some tech notes which explain the error codes and the way to put the machine into a diagnosis mode. Here is the tech notes if you do not have them.
If a check of the wiring does not reveal a problem, and the diagnostics do not give you a definitive answer you are probably going to have to go the route of replacing parts on speculation. Unfortunately that is the repair methodology when these types of electronic controls have been put in place.
If a LG washer hums look into a part called a HALL SENSER it is a small part that go's in the motor at the rear of unit they are known to go and the humming is the give away ..If this helped please vote if you need more help please feel free to contact me..firstname.lastname@example.org
The 'LE' error message indicates the control board has
detected that the motor is either not turning, or has locked up for some
reason. Monitoring the motor is the job of the hall effect sensor board
which constantly determines the direction and speed of the motor and
feeds that information back to the control board. If there is a problem
between what the motor should be doing and what the hall effect sensor
says the motor is doing, the 'LE' will be displayed and the cycle will be
Motor lock can be caused by several things from a loose
connector, to a bad motor, or even the hall effect sensor failing or
dislodging from it's mount. Any one or more of these components could
have caused this error, but it is possible to separate the working from the
non-working, just by following a process. The reason this particular
unit has been on the injured list for so long is the first tech never
followed a trouble shooting process to ensure the parts being replaced
had actually failed.
A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be locked. It will try to lock it 6 times before displaying the error.
Potential Causes • Door Lock Mechanism broken or removed from the Door • Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly • Check the wire harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU) • Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure
Ohm out the door lock solenoid and the door lock switches. This is most conveniently done at the central control board--use the wiring diagram/tech sheet to locate the proper pins to test from. Unplug the washer before starting work. hope this helps....
The error code F-11 on your washing
machine means:-- Serial Communication
Error Communication between
the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent
correctly. both this parts needs to
be checked. You will have to check
the following to confirm where the fault exactly is:--- Check Wire Harness connectors to the
MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU) Check Wire Harness connectors to the MCU,
the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU). Check the Drive system for any worn or
failed components. Check MCU. Check CCU. Check Motor. Check Wire Harness.

The OB indicates and out of balance condition has been detected by the motor control. One thing about the OB error is that the lid must be opened to clear the error and allow the washer to advance to the next part of the cycle. If the lid is not opened to adjust the clothes then the OB error will happen again.
If the OB error was cleared and the OB occurs with an empty load then the motor control has failed.
The drain pump must work. The image below shows how to run a diagnostic test to check the drain pump. Follow the instructions in the image below and check the drain pump operation. If the pump runs and the water does not drain then the sump is clogged. If the pump hums but does not run then the pump needs to be replaced.
