My toshiba laptop does not connect with my belkin router, as did my friends toshiba laptop, i have windows vista and my friend has windows 7 and neither seem to work? Can someone tell me if toshiba's are...

Definitely Belkin is compatible with all the operating systems. the issue is the security type that came along with the router is WPA/WPA2... it is not compatible with many computers. Changing the security type to WEP64 bit will work perfectly...

Setting up a belkin n wireless router. How do I

You have to go into the setup for the router. Most default to the IP address. You would type that address into your internet browser and hit enter. Then you will be asked for a name and password. If you have your belkin manual it will tell you the default name and password. Once in the settings you can change the password. You can also turn off SSID broadcasting, enable the highest level of security that your particular router supports in conjunction with your computer and enable MAC authentication. If you enable MAC authentication you have to type in the MAC address for each device you wish to have access to the router.

Wirless network problem

the belkin router gets the wire from the dsl/modem in the seperate jack port in the back then punch into the address bar on a explorer window and make sure you have it set to unsecure network, you can fiddle with the password system later on securing the network.

You don't actually need the software for this. All you need to do is login to the router via the web interface (usually or for Belkin). You can configure the channel etc options from there.
