HOW MUCH GB RAM SHOULD I BUY FOR MY D915GLVG WITH 32 BIT OS XP KINDLY GUIDE ME ( for example: 4X1gb or 3X1 gb or 2X1gb or 2X2gb ?) -Gk.Schiva

If your are just using windows xp with 32 bit operating system, 2 X1 gb would be enough... your pc will not be able to utilize the memory if you go beyond 2 gb in a 32 bit operating system..

Hope this helps...

After formatting may computer, how long will it take to install my new Operating system?

The time taken for installation depends upon the Operating system being installed and physical memory and other hardware configuration available on your system.
With 1GB RAM and Core2Duo, Vista/Windows 7 may take approximately 45-60 minutes.
This time reduces slowly with enhanced configuration.
For example this time reduces to around 35-40 minutes on a core-i5 CPU with 3GB RAM.
So, it is evident that it takes around or even less than an hour to install windows.
For the above configurations, Linux based OS (like Ubuntu 10.04 LTS ) would take around 30 minutes or even lesser.

Windows stop and nothing happin

hi If able to load win XP or any operating system that mean your system is booting and is in good condition. if there is issue with load of OS in normal mode then you try using last used configuration. follow this steps
1) keep press F8 when bios screen goes off until you see win xp option
2) then choose "last used configuration".
it will try to boot the system even though the system does boot properly then repair the os by booting xp dvd or cd from cd & dvd drive.
i hope this will resolve the issue.

Copying error

which drive ?

an external one or the one your operating system is installed on ?

Also what operating system ?

run scan disk / check disk on the drive(s) also update your motherboard drivers / chipset drivers as that may help.

Also if this is a hard drive ( the hard drive manufacturers website always has or should have diagnostic utilities which should be able to tell you if there are any problems with the hard drive, if there is you will need to get something to back your data up before the hard drive goes as in dies or stops working.

Formatting my computer

you can google it and download the drivers and utilities for your computer. just take a list of your hardware peripherals you would be just fine. if your running windows xp or vista, both OS have a wide range of driver database. they would be easily identified and work properly.

Boot problem

Was the operating system installed on another computer? Or a computer with different hardware? If so the drivers for the hardware are not configured properly on the HD or in the BIOS. If this is the case you should format the HD and re-install the OS.
