Hi, How do you get out of "DEMO MODE" on a GE Spacesmaker XL ? With this feature on, micro doesnt heat. Any ideas? thanks! riken Mine is the JE1590sc and clear doesn't seem to work. Not sure if it's the same demo mode problem but I would like to reset it. I've tried holding clear down for 3 second but nothing. Clear doesn't even stop cooking in progress. I'm worried I'll have to replace the thing for this one button.
Thanks, unplugging it didn't do anything. Everything except that clear button works. I assume I'll need a new button electrical panel. It's not impossible to replace but it seems like a toss-up to put a new $60 part into a 6 year old microwave for something that may work. Too bad there aren't scrap-yard parts for these things. I also hate to toss the thing.
The owner's manual (which can be downloaded here) doesn't show any demo mode, but it may exist.
The
first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a
minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.
If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.
