Check the ribbon cable coming from the color wheel, if you plug it in backwards it will do this.

Hi,
Plasma TVs has complicated circuits and it is hard to tell you what is wrong exactly without test and diagnose. This process requires board testing / temporarily board replacement and needs special tools etc.
I would recommend to call Samsung service to fix this tv.

would you mind this is PLASMA tv and please reconsider your solution of H and V stop things as Plasma tv has no vertical or horizontal deflections like CRT tv.

Power supply problem. I predict it is a gassy electrolytic capacitor in the ripple filter, but could be a voltage regulator circuit as well. It will require some voltage tests to determine which is the guilty component.

Problems of burnt capacitors on the main power board and should be replaced

If the timer/standby indicator is blinking, this could be an indication of the problem with the unit. The diagnostic blinking will occur automatically with no action required by you to engage it. The timing of the blinking you see would be as follows:

two to eight blinks (depending on the fault) about a third of a second apart, then pauses for 3 seconds, then the two to eight blinks about a third of a second apart again.

Here is a list of the problems that might have occurred indicated by the number of blinks. The words in parentheses are those which you will see for each of these faults on a diagnosis screen described later in this article. Unit is dead and there are no blinks---- Problem in the standby power section. Might check fuse, R607, Q601, IC601, R612 and VDR601 (should show open). Continuous blink once a second, No pausing as discussed above---- No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground or held high), IK video path is defective.

One blink---- not used for the self-diagnosis.

Two blinks---- B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits.

Three Blinks---- B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.

Four Blinks---- No vertical deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505.

Five Blinks---- AKB circuit (AKB), the timer/ standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board. Also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. Also, unit can be in IK blanking. Try turning up screen slightly.

Six blinks---- No horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 and 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.

Seven blinks---- High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.

Eight blinks---- Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401 and 402. Intermittent problems?? This is a great feature. You can also bring up these fault codes ON-SCREEN to see a list of the problem numbers with the abbreviation of the problem and the number of times this problem has occurred. This is slightly different then entering the service mode. To see the diagnostic screen, press the following buttons: Display, Channel, 5, Volume Minus, (Not plus), then power. This brings up a screen with a list of problems and number of times they have occurred. Each of the problem names is abbreviated as, “OCP”, “OVP”, “V STOP”, ETC. We have repeated them in parentheses in the text for the “Blinks” described above so you can correlate between the diagnostic screen and the blink codes. So, now that you know about these self-diagnostics, how do you use them? Say that you have a set with a black screen. You see the LED is blinking 4 times…. This would tell you that you have no vertical and that is why the video is muted. If it was blinking 6 times, you would know that you have a horizontal fault. It’s not a sure cure, but it’s a little better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. IMPORTANT: After you repair the unit, Please clear the values on this diagnostic screen. These codes do not reset themselves after the fault is corrected, so if you don’t clear them, you’ll be seeing “old” fault codes the next time you enter this screen. Clearing is done by going into the service mode (display, channel, 5, volume plus, then power) then press 8 and ENTER, which of course returns everything to the factory preset condition.

the list of what to check on the main power supply board on four blink is given please check.as it is the problem in the main board of the tv.you have to replace the particular IC as Four Blinks---- No vertical deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505.
so please replace it to make the unit proper.

U replaced the tv power supply board, the board u replaced, that is the board where the power a/c cord plug into it?Check ur old power supply board, examines all parts, see if u have any capactors parts are bulging or puffing up on it tops.Yes,than it is power supply board issue. But by replacing the power supply board only get 50/50 chances for the tv to work.Might be the problems, might not be the power supply board issue alone some times. The chances are tv Tuner signal board is dead also. That the board, where the tv incomming broadcasting signal cable plug into it.Try website like Ebay.com to buy a refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.

SSP-R4232 Plasma TV, blue light on, but tv wont turn on.

At this point it appears that your main board is probably bad. You most likely have a 5 volt scource going to the main board but its not powering up the set. The main board is part number BN94-00796A.
You might want to have a technician look at the TV to verify this as the issue before purchasing it. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.

SP-R4232 does not turn on, makes clicking noise

Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. Or, something simple like a blown fuse inside the TV. The most common board to go bad is the Backlight Inverter Board. It what supplies power to the screen. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.

4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

There are at least two issues here. First you have bad buffer boards. Second Very possibly a bad X-Main bd and P-Logic bds. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot the set.

Samsung sp-r4232 power button blinks 4 times but tv wont turn on

I have this TV. My father in law tried to turn it on one day and it started making a clicking sound and never came on. So he went out and bought a new tv and gave it to me. It came on when I brought it home and worked for a couple weeks. Then just the other day it stopped working. When you hit the power button the light around it blinks four times and then you here a clicking sound. TV does not come on. Took the back panel off and I don't see any damaged caps or fuses. b435b80e-6d09-419f-a021-9b8a430e0a74.jpg

Samsung plasma sp-r4232

Remove the power supply cable to Y Main board, check Vs on power supply board when you turn on tv.
1. If you have normal Vs, replace the Y Main board. If still not work, replace the Logic board.
2. If you don't have normal Vs when you try to turn on your tv, just replace the Power Supply board.
