It is not illegal to back up your own dvd's just for safe keeping, but to do this you have to decrypt the dvd's first. You can find a great free program here.

Hi!! I have a Dell Vostro 1310 with Windows 7 Ultimate installed and I was burning a DVD with Nero Express when it suddenly froze. I restarted the computer and when I put a DVD back into it, it doesn't...

It is probably a nero quirk. You will not be able to read the disk you were writing as there will be no table of contents written to it which is [ossibly why it failed.
Re install Nero or load the latest updates before trying again.

DVD Writing Problem

The specs on your PC can be found by clicking here. From what I read on this page, you can record CDs, but only read DVDs. So, to burn DVDs, you would need to purchase and install a DVD burner. They are pretty inexpensive right now, so if someone in your area is handy with PC stuff, they could install one within 10 minutes for you.

Good Luck

I want to burn photos from a folder in HP Image Zone to a dvd, but cannot figure out how. Can you help me?

1. First, you need a program that will allow you to burn to CDs and DVDs. Nero is a good one. Go to www.nero.com and download a trial version.
2. Run the program. Tell it that you want to make a data DVD, and select the folder that you want to burn. Then Select add, and it will add that folder.
3. Click on burn.

Really with Nero you just follow the onscreen instructions.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as FixYa. Thank you.

Dvd burning

Load software9 install). I.E Nero ( my preference) or Roxio or something similar. Your Drive must be an actual DVD Burner -R or +R/ RW. buy the same kind of blank DVDs that go with the drive.

Example. ( DVD-R/ RW) would mean you need to buy DVD's that are -R, ( DVD +R) you would need +R dvd's. Go to wallmart and just ask for someone in electronics to get the ones you need.

get into the program and its usually self explanitory, theres usually options to " Create DVD VIDEO, DATA DVD,) If you want it to play just like a DVD Movie, you need to first have the DVD movie on your PC in a some knd of recognizable format. Nero is good at converting it easily but they also have advanced options as well. If the software has a WIZARD mode, i suggest you use it as WIZARD mode is the user friendly version that cuts out all the advanced options so as not to confuse newbies.

Now if your trying to Burn a DVD straight from a DVD, bassically Copying a DVD movie, which is Illegal but im sure you know that and you would never do that right?

Well lets say you need to, Most DVD's have copyright software that prevents you from copying them but new programs and plugins can get around that. You can try using the " exact Copy feature " in Roxio but it may or may not work. now if your looking into copying DVD's that are copyrighted, i would suggest you study it yourself as explaining it online takes a long time. Your better off downloading it from The Pirate bay dot com, already converted and just burning it to disk. Ths of course is still illegal and i dont encourage this in any way;)

Hope this helps
