The setting is controlled by your computer not the monitor. I'm assuming you are running Windows - open the Control Panel (from the Start button) and go to Power Options. You can find it in here. If you have problems, get back to me with the specific Operating System you are using and version or service pack level and I can give you more specific details.

What you are experiencing isn't "sleep" mode, it is the screen saver. If you have WINXP, right click on a clear area of the desktop, and select "Properties". When the DISPLAY PROPERTIES window appears, select the "screen saver" tab. Change the "WAIT" time to the time you wish the scrren saver to delay. If you don't want to have to login after a screen time out, uncheck the "On resume, display Welcome Screen" box.

You can take it apart and inspect for bulging capacitors - the tops should be perfectly flat. Even a slight bulge at the top is an indication that the capacitor is bad.

When you press your power button your system goes to sleep mode as per your system settings. To awake your system just press any key or 'Awake Key' (if its present on your keyboard), then your system will be back. No need to wait.

There is an On Display Menu (ODM). You can access it by pushing the button located on the monitor. Use +- buttons to navigate in the menu. Here you can switch off the sleep mode or change the sleep settings. I have a simular problem... I try to turn off the power save function but it seems like it dosen´t want to understand this...
