Heres how it is on my 5140i (the menu should be the same)
Turn the phone on
MENU ONCE - this opens the menu DOWN ONCE - down to contacts MENU ONCE - open contacts MENU ONCE - opens names LEFT SELECT ONCE - (the one above the green phone symbol) this opens options. UP ONCE - gets you to copy MENU ONCE - selects copy MENU ONCE - selects copy FROM phone TO sim MENU ONCE - confirms selection DOWN ONCE - selects ALL contacts MENU ONCE - confirms selection MENU ONCE - selects KEEP ORIGINAL LEFT SELECT ONCE - YES to copy contacts
Go make a tea or have a beer and come back to it in about 5 minutes, swap your sim to another phone and hey presto
There is a gadget you can buy which will read your SIM card and copy the data to a PC to give you a back up for just this problem. Also some phone shops offer this service for a fee. And I believe some operators will store your data on-line, but I haven't tried this.
